Very good "Negro" impersonation by Mr. Baldry. The effeminate bit is pretty interesting, too. This is the first time I ever heard Long John Baldry sing, but I had heard OF him for many, many years. Not impressed at all.

All those young white Americans in the 1960's didn't know what blues was. It was only white British bands which made them aware of it. a lot of well known american blues artists were living in povery until the Stones, Animals and others covered them and they got the royalties from their records, which white American producers had cheated them out of. See what BB King says the difference was after Eric Clapton mentioned his name in a TV interview. And BB thought that Peter Green was the best.

@ronwhycherly I saw Buddy Guy perform in February. During his show he gave a short lesson on blues history. When he mentioned the boys from England hearing blues and doing their own version, someone in the audience yelled "they fucked it up!". Buddy corrected him: "They didn't mess it up, they let you know who we were!"
