Jim Morrison brought out the poet in me....I am writing a book of poetry dedicated to him.

I went to Jim's grave in 1989 and there was no fencing up yet and the column on the grave next to his had fallen over and was on Jim's grave. Even then there was a crowd of fans hanging out there drinking and smoking. Glad I took pix.

@griseldafenne he hated his father so much that he didn't want to be back there, he had a lot of pain with the split relationship with his parents. He lived this way to punish his parents.

Jim was marked. He died on the day Brian Jones(of the Stones) died but three years later and he was born on the Day John Lennon was assassinated Dec 8th which happened 37 years later. I love the doors but what a strange consequence. Live Long Jim,John and Brian. TyT

can anyone translate the greek inscription on the great mans headstone?i went in 92 the time of the solar eclipse or was it 97 i really cant remember i was well stoned i guess anyhow feedback appreciated.

I think it has several meanings but most people are inclined to look at the inscription on the garve from the "true to his own spirit" definition. I hope this helps but if you have a look on the net, you'll find a list of the possible graves incriptions meanings.

@stevom31 It translates as "True to his own spirit" and Jim was. He lived the way he wanted to, not by how society thought he should. He also didn't take shit off of anyone!
