If Obama had spoken in a black dialect I have no doubt he would have had a MUCH tougher time getting elected. If a gay man ran the gay man would not have been elected. If a Muslim ran the Muslim would not have been elected. Stating these things does not make one a racist. They are simply observations.

Also, Maddow is, as usual, being disingenuous when she said Newt Gingrich "survived" those comments as he did not hold a public office at the time. She also provided an example of the double standard among the Dems, when she showed Biden and his comments. And "fact-checking" Pat Buchanan's hypothetical question about the track team is laughable and her editing of that conversation is silly
