You make a solid point. I don't know if it was TWA or JFK airport that is to blame for the jet sitting on the tarmac for so long, because they had baggage on the plane but they said the passenger that it belonged to wasn't on the airplane, when in fact he was on the plane the whole time, and it took them over an hour to figure this out, so that was a huge blunder there, and more than likely the reason for the explosion and crash into the atlantic, alot of beautiful lives snuffed out way too soon
I especially feel sorry for Michelle and Becky. They we're traveling first class to Paris, for a luxury vacation, only to take a detour to death. Sheesh, they should be including parachutes in these planes so victims even have a chance of survival!
@Satoshi9801 It wouldn't have mattered one bit. They all could've had two parachutes on and not had anywhere to go to pull the rip cord. It happened so fast, they were doomed from the start. If you want to point fingers as to blame. Start with TWA. for sitting on the tarmac for over an hour, running the air conditioners and heating up the center tank, and also for faulty maintenance procedures on that plane which was built in 1970.
@gooniegoogoo62 You're right, I'm blaming the wrong factor. But I think it was actually Boeing making it too easy for something like this to happen, they were the ones who built the wiring inadequetly. There's no reason to blame TWA, it was the airport's maintenance and Boeing (TWA would NOT approve of these maintenance measures.)
@Satoshi9801 You make a good point, I don't know if it was TWA or JFK airport that is to blame for the jet sitting on the tarmac for so long, they had some baggage on the plane, but they said the passenger that it belonged to wasn't on board, when in fact he was on the plane the whole time, and it took them over an hour to figure this out, so that was a huge blunder there, and more than likely the reason for what happened, this accident still bothers me, beautiful lives gone way too soon.
@gooniegoogoo62 well, sadly, you are missing out on seeing the world. I was on this EXACT flight five years earlier, did not stop me from traveling. Quite the opposite.
@astar334 Mag the skag, the slippery slimy slut, fungus grows between her toes and worms crawl out her butt, before you climb her scaly legs and suck her festered tits, you'll drink a toast of buzzards puke, and die of the drizzling shits......
@EZR09 :'( i wonder if dean koontz's " Sole Survivor " was based on this tragic case :( there main chracter was a guy who lost his wife and 2 daughters in a tragic plane crash...has this mysterious tragedy been finally solved? was it a fuel or a military rocket that caused the crash ?
Accidentally shot down by a U.S military missile. They were conducting military exercises at this time and this was a horrible accident/mistake and cover up.
Indeed they do, but the media include each and every site that churns out the lies mistakes and absurdities that constitute flight 800 conspiracy tales. The difference is that usually, established media are somewhat more likely to get it right than your average homeade CT site that pops up out of the blue from nowhere. Here's a good example: the sites that I've seen don't tell you that the "streak" witness timings support an event late in the accident sequence.
So when one has finished reading and sifting through however much media on F800 - be it NTSB dockest, Jim Sanders' books, and a host of CT sites, for example - one has time for, then it's up to one to make up one's mind where the truth is. F800 strikes me as one of those cases where - at least superficially - either a cover-up and/or missile scenario looks enticing. But you can also make a very strong case against it by paying close attention to the details. That's my position.
Yeah well, as a pilot for the last five years with a flying career of almost 10 years I don't really buy the fuel tank explosion. That's almost like a lightning strike taking out an a/c. It just doesn't happen. It could have happened, but if so it was one of those 1 in 100,000,000 cases.
- That's in fact about what the 1998 ARAC report estimated for the frequency of such events.I also initially found it difficult to accept a cause with such little precedent. But that reasoning becomes less convincing at a time when more common causes of accidents have increasingly been identified and corrected, the result being a higher % of "freak events." Other cases would include the 737/rudder/ AA587 and AF447.
Certainly before United flight 585 came along there was little precedent (and no crashes) from mysterious uncommanded rudder mvts, causing an airliner to flip over and play dead. But it happened. Now ask this: what's the chance you could have a missile hit TWA F800 and either 1) leave none of the tell tale signs of a missile or 2) convince senior NTSB officials to participate in a cover-up. To judge from the US accident record, less than 100m to one. Where does that leave us?
The cover for the bombing of Flt 800 was the Atlanta Olympics which was a few weeks away. It would look like Arab terrorists did the act. They were after someone on the plane. That is the missing link to proving who did it, which isn't real hard to figure out.
A male individual about 20 years old placed a back pack in the luggage compartment half way up the plane on the left side from the rear of the plane.
The issue is who they wanted to kill. Who was the person they were after and why and who did it? The passenger list clearly speaks of who they were after.
that must suck to watch the news and see that ur friends and family werre on it. tht was hard for me and my family when we saw how traumatic it must have been in that plane for my uncle and cousins.
I gave birth to my first born and was in the hospital during this crash. I remember seeing on tv a "my first teddy" bear floating in the water and I completely lost it. Till this day I absolutely hate planes and have only flown once, while trembling the entire time. It's my biggest fear. Horrible.
Heart-breaking for all involved. You have to feel for the mother who advised her daughters not to change to a later flight. Witnesses heard the explosion after seeing something, (the rear part of the plane), streaking upwards with a fire trail. They forgot to allow for the fact that sound travels relatively slowly while light is instantaneous, and thought that a missile was involved. Faulty Kapton insulation was the main culprit. For details of issues, Google - Die by Wire Kapton Panorama .
the wings were the ones on fire aswell and were they were sitting, bt i do agree, they should of put they blow up things on but if you or other people of in the plaine is on fire, i dont think u r really thinking of putting it on if you get what i mean..
The french club, 16 high school students and five chaprones from my home town were killed on this flight. . We lived on the same street as the high school. My daughter knew most of the kids. It was a terrible time.
I was 11 when the tragedy happened several years ago. Those students didn't get a chance to grow up. I didn't know any of the victims that died in the crash.
