The ferret is too big for that kitten. At least I'm glad you grabbed the ferret but what you should do is not let them play together at all because he might do some real damage to that poor kitty cat. I mean this in the most respectful way, I do not want you to be offended. As a cat owner myself, I'm just looking out for your kitty because it's adorable and wouldn't want it hurt.

I think when kittens look that young it would be better for them to stay with their mum a little bit longer.

I think ferrets have been known in the past to kill very young kittens, the first time the kitten cried you should have really split them up. The kitten is too young to jump to higher ground and couldn't get away. The bite to the neck was too much.

I love both these animals but you've really got to be careful with such a helpless animal there, as ferrets can play prey to death.

What IDIOT would think that kitten was a year or so old??? Seriously! It would be a full-grown cat by then! Plus, my ferrets play with kittens and LOVE THEM. I've never seen a ferret attack a kitten to the point it really hurt them. Other CATS do more damage to kittens than ferrets :P

We have a ferret and a kitten and they get along like a house on fire :) Now my kitten has grown a bit, it's a fair fight!

It's not abuse if they are play fighting. I do agree that 6 weeks is a bit young to be letting them play fight; it was cute however and the kitten didn't seem hurt.

The vet suggests doing it as well as it simply puts the ferret to sleep.

Ferrets are a rough and tumble type of animal w/ very thick skin. Your ferret will still be able to beat the hell out of the kitten soon to be a cat. Ferrets will not normaly back down.

Our cats used to get up as high as possible when we let out our ferret. Our siamese's had all of their claws and they beat the hell out of our ferret. but. our ferret would tire them down and still win.

Your kitten will learn how to play w/ them.
