You do realise that even purchased DVDs may not be screened in public, right? They're licensed for private home use only. Most of the stores I've been to don't even have access to an antenna, which makes even just chucking the grand final on a chore. Stop being daft.

I used to work for this declining company. They encouraged us to sell used products, as in products that someone has taken home and used for (posibley for 2 weeks) and just brought it back to the store for a full cash refund. Laptops, Tv's, SAT nav's, PS3's, Xbox, anything! they get us to lie about it say it's an ex demo or display. we would just clean it with a "wet pipe". How fucked is that?

Customer bought a phone in Cairns, and found a whole lot of porn shots on the phone.

Minor detail but the Rangiora store (which has now closed down) wasn't even a proper Dick Smith, it was owner operated. They'd buy their stock from other Dick Smith retail stores at a trade price, and re-sell it.

pfft, being an employee for tandy, sif most of these companies dont do it. yes, the company doesnt like it or technically "allow" it, but i meen its rampid through the industry and how the heck else are we meant to display videos without ripping dvds? its easier to put a series of episodes (like top gear) on win media player and leave it. most stores in WA do that no matter what brand, dickies, tandy, harveys, iv seen all stores do it!
