Great bike, I never had any problems with mine... Sorry for the unlucky ones, this may just be chance... Anyway, I"m going from France to Moroco at the end of the month, I will maybe change my mind ! (I hope not ;) )
I have had endless problems with my GS too. I persevere with it simply because I spent so much on it but as an owner and a sufferer I feel that I have a right to voice my opinion. So when gubbedagain gets all protective over his precious Beemer I find it amusing as all this YouTuber has told is the truth! I have also had Honda's and Yamaha's and found them infinitely more reliable. I still love the bike, I just hate its unreliability.
don't get that!! i got a gsa 1150 from 2002. i've done 112000 km with it without any problem.i've traveled with it raced it on circuits and did off road. never had any problem with it . depends on bike i think. got some friends who had a lot of problems also.but it is still a fantastic machine!!
Fuel pump electrics failed on my 1200gs last year in France. Put us a day behind scedual. Then my mate put deisel in his tank by mistake. took two days to get it sorted
How have you found the bike unreliable? I rode the RTP as an Officer in Vegas for 6 years and never once missed a lick. I rode Kawasaki, Harley and then the BMW R models. The finest machine built. So I am confused as to why you claim them unreliable.
Hey Scott. My pal and i have both had ignition coils fail, i've had a sticking throttle and my pal has had his master clutch cylinder and his alternator belt both fail. Sadly, these last two hapoened on two seperate biking tours in Europe and out a real damper on both. if we hadn't spent so much on the bikes. we'd be well tempted to get shot of them.
and your point would be ?????? You don;t consider these to be standard faults that can and do occur on every brand of machine going. Did he replace his alternator belt as scheduled, did it get something stuck in it ? All brands will have bikes with faults, it doesn't mean everyone is bad. I've had faults on Hondas, Yamahas, BMWs and Suzukis. Shit happens, if you're that upset sell it and buy something else.
Hey there. It's called Place Your Hands by a band called Reef. It is a great tune! we do love the GSA - it's an amazing bike on and off road. My pal and i bought 3 yr old ones with FSH but we sadly we have found them unreliable. still keeping them though! BigGee
Great I am buying one. BTW what is the song that is edited into the end of the video I like it and want to find it. Come up to Idaho someday and lets go riding!

I think I'd rather have the HP2 enduro. That bike is insane.
