  • to belutpisang.. so the stripes in Jalur Gemilang are in what color??

  • The red+white is the colour theme of Southeast Asia. It's a pity that Malaysia didn't adopt the colour for its national flag.

  • @belutpisang do you think the philippines didn't adopt it too? we have four colors too. greetings from the philippines! :D

  • @belutpisang hahaha? funny like you said! malaysian flag has 7 stripes red and white!!!!!

  • indonesia and singapore has similar flags and they're neighbor one another....

  • @EvanC0912 Indonesia, Malacca and Singapore's flags are based in the same history, that's Empire of Majapahit's flag, that consist of red and white. Indonesia adopt full the flag unchanged, while Malacca and Singapore adopted with some modifications (in Malacca, tha colour become base of Jalur Gemilang (flag of Malaysia) and Singapore with adding crescent and five 5-pointed stars...

  • @abxSC1

oh. wow.. i didnt know that singaporean and malaccan flags are based on majapahit's flag as well.

  • @EvanC0912 yeah that's I've known from my History subject that were learnt in the school

  • @abxSC1

you learn that in your history class.??.wow..

in indonesia, we actually never learn about the origin of our flag at school, but generally it is believed that the color of the flag is derived from the banner colors of the empire of majapahit.

we do learn the history of the empire of majapahit (including the memorable "Sumpah Palapa") in history classes, though; and to me the easiest lesson in history subject is about the "1998 Reformation". haha..

  • do they have a special pole on the presidential palace or city square to hoist the flag on the national day...

the idea of flying the flag by heli is cool but dont you think that flying a "sacred" flag at the pole is more solemn and ceremonial than just flying the flag on heli.... i think the idea can be used along with the pole one...

i think singapore has a very cool tradition on holding a national parade + ceremony....

  • @EvanC0912 it to comemorate the day we gain independance. And times then were tough

  • @EvanC0912 The State & the Presidential flag is being raised up actually on this event, at the top part of the viewing gallery :)

  • just a thought... any other country uses helicopters to raise their flag?

    Anyway thanks for the upload

  • technically, our flag wasn't raised.. it was flown past. HAHA (:

  • In school it IS raised, though.

  • @lsjice But actually, on this event itself, the President flag is been raised up at the top part of the viewing gallery :)

  • People's Republic of China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. On some occasions.
