  • Song @ 4:36?

  • Is that a Fiat 600 on 3:02 ?

  • The "Act of the New Generation" saying was taken out of context. He wasn't talking about the Stooges, he was talking about the rock festival he was narrating. Any way you say it, the Stooges still rock

  • @DiCkRiChArDz ...you're right. i look completely ignorant and unintelligent. i apologize for the inappropriateness of my comments. i made such a fool out of myself by spewing random cuss words from my keyboard and butchering the names of some of the most legendary music icons of all time. i cannot even begin to explain how ashamed i am of my immaturity, and lack of knowledge of chain fast food restaurant menus. well, i shouldn't beat myself up for it. we can't all be like you.

  • AWESOME UP

    THANKS SO MUCH

  • Get everything that this band put out. Like kynoceph said... listen to it till you see it running through your vacant mind, and then listen sumore' and LOUD... Raw fucking power!

  • The Stooges turned me alcoholic.

  • Punk rock is all the about the audience! Nobody want to be bored, like in heavy metal bullshit concerts!

  • I want Iggy's body. Like literally, I want to be in it. Holy shit.

  • The pics at 5.24 and on is taken when Iggy was fronting Ray Manzarek band later called Nite City.

  • Children, children, don't ask "what song is this?" Just go out and get "Stooges," "Funhouse" and "Raw Power." DO IT NOW. Then play them over and over and over again until the songs are in your DNA.

  • @kynoceph thats what Raw Power is to me... that album is in my FUCKING BLOOD and it comes out in my playing

  • @kynoceph you're fucking right.

  • @kynoceph haha, I couldnt have said it better myself. Iggy is in my D.N.A. I would LOVE to see a movie based on his life with Robert Downey Jr. playing the one and only IGGY! ;)

  • Classic example of knowing what ya wanna do but not really knowing what the fuck ya wanna do. Its the catalyst of all things good. No preconceived expectations.

  • BEYOND AWESOME!!

  • oh man I love iggy lol

  • I cannot believe it took me so long to discover Iggy Pop. I am absolutely mad about this. MAD MAD and MAD...

  • Iggy Pop and Anthony Kiedis look similar.

  • Thanks

  • I have never hesitated to name “I wanna be your dog” as my number one favourite rock song in the world. The trouble is when push comes to shove I’d have to include the likes of Dirt, Not Right, Search and Destroy, Raw Power, I gotta right, Down on the Street etc to my top ten list. When Jon Lennon Died I did not shed a single tear. But when Iggy passes on it will be a river of sadness then a ear to ear grin when I remember what he left us.

  • cool doc, but The Weirdness was not a very good album. Albini buried Iggy's vocals and there was very little emotion. Disappointment

  • Yo he visto a Iggy and The Stooges en México :D ! ! ! !

  • peanut butter!!!! I like how he just goes with it. cool man.

  • Happy Birthday 63rd Birthday Iggy

  • originator of punk rock my ass. his lyrics suck too.

  • @DiCkRiChArDz who started it then? and please don't say something like gg allin...if his lyrics suck, what do you consider good? you just startin' shit or do you not understand rock n' roll?

  • @pfmo5678ramone Fuck GG Allin. Anyone can shit and piss themselves and act like an idiot. There were many people who "originated punk", do you even understand that word? Iggy pop isn't original. Thinks he's mcJagger. Why be such an idiot? Who lit the fuse on your tampon?

  • @DiCkRiChArDz

So, considering they (the Stooges) started rolling around in '67, who else would you place with them, style-wise?

The Stones, though already psychedelic, were nothing like this. Mick, while remarkably stylish, never crawled through glass...did not create such "noise", did not wear his condition as vividly.

Perhaps you meant by that, present-day Iggy?

  • @DiCkRiChArDz

mick jagger is not an item on the value menu at mcdonald's...get it straight, bro

  • @jorrrrdyn Hahaha. I'm not your "bro". And your metaphor was possibly the gayest shit I've ever heard.

  • @DiCkRiChArDz i think you're slightly confused with your literary terms. you called him "mcjagger". i told you...well, basically that you're a dumbass. that, my friend, involved no metaphors.

  • @jorrrrdyn once again, I'm not your friend, and the "value menu" thing is a fucking metaphor. You mean to tell me Mc Donalds sells rockstars now on their value menu?????????? HOLY SHIT!!! You're a stupid cunt. Don't bother replying cause you're making yourself look like a fucking idiot...

  • @DiCkRiChArDz And your display pic made me puke in my mouth. Then I swallowed it, kinda like a chaser, that tastes better then the image I just took in.

  • Comment removed

  • @jorrrrdyn He's not on the value menu cause the value menu has "value". And I'm not your "bro".

  • Don't know 'bout the States but in Europe Iggy is considered a rock-god for ages and his tours were always sold out in the late seventies.

  • Europe always understands good music. Everything here in America has to have a gentle edge.

  • Ron Asheton RIP

  • Without question, the greatest presence to ever take the stage, no one can touch him in that arena. Now well into his 60's he still leaves most of his younger contemparies in the dust....

  • Um.. I meant to give you a thumbs UP but I accidently clicked down soo... Thumbs UP

  • tube630271...Re. thumbs down. Not a problem. Red (or Magenta) is my fav colour, lol

  • This is absolutely top - Thanks man. Still are the fuckin' greatest of all time.Great video.

  • HA HA HA IGGY! THE MADMAN

  • what's the name of the song that was beginning at 4.36 ??

  • It's "Tight Pants" (later turned into "Shake Appeal."

  • Great stuff from 35-40 years ago. The more recent stuff? He's an anachronism who should find something to do other than recycling a 35-40 year old act. It's a bit embarrassing. I hope the Ashetons made good money from the tours and album, what with having to deal with this guy. Also, he obviously used some of the money ("Lust for Life" royalties in the millions) and bought veneers, which might seem like a good idea (although Iggy Pop with perfect teeth?), but they look too big and too perfect.

  • Hope you have a middle age life so full of life to justify this lame tirade; but you apparently don't really understand rock & roll fundamentals.

  • Sorry-- just responding to "Far out Sydney", no one else!

  • I did not intend to bring disgrace upon the Shaolin Temple. What are "rock & roll fundamentals," and how does one gain an "understanding" of them?

Why would a middle age full of life justify a lame tirade? Either the tirade, if that's what it is, is lame or it's not.

Eh, good for Osterberg. He found some people to support him in his old age.

    Signed,

    Hater

  • What in the name of god do good teeth have to do with music? He's an artist and a pioneer, not an insurance salesman.

  • Good point about the teeth, and the lack of a relationship between good teeth and music (memo to Shane MacGowan: relax, all is well). So why did Osterberg bother to get those awful veneers?

And what's with all the brand loyalty? The Stooges came up with a great sound in their day, and Osterberg's act got him over (reminiscent of Freddie Blassie filing his teeth during interviews). The first two Stooges albums were a gas 40 years ago, but the form is exhausted, as is the merchant's act.

  • thanks man! this is great

  • this is great! thx for posting!
