Makes this New Yorker proud to have been a Seahawks and Mariners fan for over 30 years now. (Been wearing my M's hat around New York for the past week without even knowing about this!)
@conservativesunited Thanks for your support of the anti-bullying messages. I hope you are sincere and help to make one for others who are bullied beside gay youths, such as overweight, the geeky, different races or abilities etc. I'm glad we all agree bullying is wrong. Thanks for helping bring attention to this important piece of public education for our youth.
I'm glad to see these folks say something. The more voices singing this song, the better. It's been decades since I was a kid, but I was very heavily bullied and had not yet learned how to stand up for myself. It was a lifetime ago, but thinking back, it can still sting. I never want any kid, whoever or whatever they are, to feel what I felt, to go through what I went through, to feel helpless, alone and in despair. It's all so damn unnecessary!
Neither group has made an It Gets Better video. Nor would many gay kids see these videos because they are sports teams. They aren't even trying to reach them.
@postcardsky Not a message fail. When you see athletes that actually want to stand up for LGBT youth, it shows that not everyone is like the "jocks" that bully them at school. And, for the record, I know plenty of gays who follow sports.
Bullying is not a gay issue, its a teen issue. LGBT has hijacked this to advance their own agenda. All this does it attempts to create another victim class in America (like we don't have enough of those). Now, I expect to hear what a "ignorant, racist, homophobic, red-neck hater" from the "tolerant peace-lovers" out there. Save your breath if you are not going to use intelligent arguments.
You are correct, bullying is not entirelya gay issue, but it is an issue that dominates the life of a child who knows he is gay. I dont mean sexually active, I mean KNOWING that you are different and living with this secret your entire childhood life. Other kids pick up on differences and go after those that are different. I've seen it, I've experienced it...from the age of 6 yrs old on. I'm sure yo uare aware of the recent gay teen suicedes latelly...as young as 11. Listen and learn.
@conservativesunited I was called a faggot and beaten as a teen twenty years ago. Nobody was telling me then that it would get better. Thank God times have changed.
@DW2020 got bullied as well when I was a teen. Point being, this is not an issue unique to"being gay" and special interest groups are using teens as pawns to advance their agenda and make them feel like victims. Many more teens who have not been "gay" have had to go through bullying then have been. Whether you are "gay" or not dances around the true issue which is the bullying.
@conservativesunited Wrong. The ISSUE with The Trevor Project is the bullying of LGBT youth. And it's not dancing around anything. And we are not a "special interest group" -- that is just hateful talk promulgated by hate-filled people. We, the "sexual outlaws" are some of the very last people it is still okay to hate, abuse, attack and MURDER. Those evil actions are still accepted and even promoted in different parts of the world. "Special Interest," my ass. We are trying to survive.
Guess it's back to picking on fat kids.

Since these are made for ItGetsBetter[dot]org, it would be nice if you hadn't blocked them from being viewed there.

Great job! Thanks for this! The fact that professional athletes care about LGBT teens is important.
