  • good times...too bad everyone just can't enjoy a good song...i remember my aunt telling my mother how dirty this song was...if they only knew what was coming...thanx for putting this here!

  • People are born gay or lesbian or straight. Bigotry is a choice.

  • Fanny hit #29 in Billboard, 4-5-75. Had a great sound. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • its about Bowie

  • Fanny is slang for vagina! Ewww

  • @SuckPunchYoMama88 First, how old are you? 8? Second, in American English ... Fanny is slang for the "buttocks." Apparently, in British slang ... it is used to refer to the "Vulva" which was probably the band's way of saying hey we are all talented females. Grow up because you are Ewwww!

  • My dad didn't believe me when I said you could find basically everything on youtube. I told him to give me ANY song name to look up, and he proceeded to tell me of this song.

    . . . I am now quite curious as to WHY. @.@

  • lesbians or nt it's justy the fucking music get a life man!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't stop listening to this song.

  • One's sexuality has nothing to do with Musical talent, skills and class. I would play music with them any day over playing with men.!

  • who cares if alice and june were allegedly gay, that was irrevelant, they were(still are ) brilliant musicians

  • I still have my original 45rpm record of this song. I would not trade it or any of the others for love or money. Priceless !

  • This is a FRIGGIN' TREASURE!

  • I've seen Jean Millington in a solo concert...she's still and incredible guitar player, singer and performer. And yes, she's a lesbian....so what?

  • These ladies were owed a hit after their wonderful cover of "I've Had It" failed to punch a hole in the Top 40, and this was as perfect a hit as they could've hoped for. Nice to hear the ladies slyly voicing their sexual desires for once (without being overly blatant like some of their male counterparts).

  • Kept from bein' a 1 hit wonder in Billboard. Hit #29 on the top 40. God bless!

  • Damn, what a hot song! I remember it well!

    SEXXXXYYYY!

  • I was SOOOOO sad to find out the lead singer and guitar player was a lesbo... I thought she was hot... oh well, good song.

  • you say she's a lesbian like it's a bad thing.

  • @SuperSmashMe It is, to him... I've heard similar comments before like "it's too bad George Michael is gay", implying if he were a het OF COURSE the female fan who left the message would have access to him...

  • @RickSkold Just to set the record straight,June Millington, the original guitarist, and Alice de Buhr, the original drummer were lesbians. They'd left the band before this song was recorded,so as far as I know, the ladies you see in the pictures here are straight.Jean Millington the singer was married to Earl Slick. Brie Howard, the drummer was married to James Newton-Howard the movie soundtrack guy.I don't think it's sad that those ladies are lesbians; they are who they are and more power to 'em!

  • @MrJamesrnolan I'd say it's impossible for the one w/the funky afro wig & crazy getup to be straight...lol. I'm almost certain Patti Quatro was definitely straight.

  • @MrJamesrnolan I suppose some think it said because by emphasising the orientation it gives the impression that only lesbians can make it in the rock world...and that somehow "nice" straight girls don't have what it takes to make it or something or shouldn't even try. People definitely have some odd ideas as to what is proper or not proper for women, even in 2010.

  • @belladeballe I've always looked at it like this : Man, woman, gay, straight, or Martian, if you make good music, and it finds an audience that remains loyal, that's what counts the most. Women musicians have bemoaned the fact of just being referred to as "girl band" instead of just "a band", and they have a point. I could bring up April Lawton,a guitarist just as talented as Jeff Beck, Billy Gibbons,etc--they always made a big deal about her being a female guitarist instead of just a guitarist.

  • @MrJamesrnolan And also what bothered me about the comment I originally replied to was its rather sexist tone, that because certain members of Fanny's sexual orientation was different, this somehow made them invalid in terms not of their musical ability, but of that commenter's implied vision of them as personal sex object hamburger, which should inflame the ire not only of women, gay and straight alike, but musicians and people in general.

  • @RickSkold One: Jean Millington's not gay. Two: she's a lead singer and bass player. She's waaaaaaay too cool to play such a wimpy instrument as guitar *lol*

  • Haven't heard this in years. Fanny still rocks!

  • Where were these ladies all these years....

  • I have this on a k-tel record.

  • I remember when this song came out! I am a guitar player, I like really good pop songs.

My question, what are these ladies doing these days?

  • They could be romping with the grandchildren!
