I had one of these fans. I wore it out. The left side number 2 coil burned out (high resistance short in the windings.) I was bummed out because the fan moved more air than a 2008 Lasko 3722 (which I am trying to kill) My only problem with the fan when I had it was it was a pain to open the fan to oil it (the above mentioned Lasko has no oil ports!)

Boy, it appears that fan companies nowadays are really good at finding ways to keep the construction costs of their new fans inexpensive. That is, by building them cheap...lol!!!
oops, I think I deleted the other comment. sorry Sabre, but yeah, I can show a vid with the 3rd generation blade if you want. I'll ses if I can do that this weekend.
I have a Lasko cyclone fan from about 9 years ago. I'm quite impressed with how much air it moves even though its a " brace bladed fan" . Doesn't get used much at all now. I last used it a few months ago while cleaning the bathroom.
Oh by the way, Andrewjarmans (Dino Boy) has the current version (you might have seen the video) but like most of his old videos that video is gone now.
Nice fans! Now I see how much better in quality the original Kool Operator is than today's. I always thought that the blade on today's kool operator was the same as on today's Lakewood box fan, the same fan Emersoncollie killed with a quad bike and the same one 603JohnBrown used to upset EmersonCollie and others with his false opinions on it.
Lol! Now you know who I am. I saw that I was in the video too. I took maybe over 15+ Film Takes today, and I said "whatever". So here's the best one out of all the takes. Eventually My whole face will be exposed! haha :)
A friend of mine has one of these (it's missing the knob and right foot though)

There is also a small cool operator lakewood fan! I believe it is 10 or 12 inches with five blades.

Thanks for the shout out! I'd say you're lucky to have 2 of these awesome fans! I wonder if the feet from the crappy operator would fit.

I agree with you on the low speed as well, I love a good silent low speed.
As to build quality, these are definitely better than the Galaxy Wind Machine. However, I like the appearance of the Galaxy version better.

My neighbor has an older Kool Operator like these, it's a good fan.

This 20" fan can run with a 3rd generation blade. You're talking about the banana blade set right? if so, yes it does fit on these.

These are really nice fans!
