well that is where you are wrong. I am a FRANCO-AMERICAN. I do care if American people get slaughtered. But here's the thing Al-Qaeda (at the time) was in Afghainstan, we had them. Then of course we send all our forces to Iraq XO. Yes i do care that Hussein was slaughtering his own people, but that is not why we went in. They (the goverment) said "we have proff of WMDs" not "Hussien is a genocidel tyrant and must be stoped" (if they had they never would of gotten support for the war).

The French do acknowledge that you Americans saved our ass in WW2. Although you didn't save our ass in WW1. The americans entered the Great War in the last 6 months of the war, and the war was already all but over. However the Americans did help end the war sooner, the war would of gone for an extra 6 months to 2 years if they hadn't come in, and a few more million of people would of died. but in the end Allies still would of won the war. But yeah WW2 the americans saved everybodys ass.

That's why so many people here are so lethargic--apathetic. We feel: "Why even bother voting? It's always the same", and it has been for at least five decades. I know it's a defeatist, pessimistic attitude to have, but what other attitude can one have when the immoral 'moral majority' and the rich rule the country? Maybe this economic meltdown might bring the majority to it's senses finally, but I won't hold my breath. Our politicians and foreign policies are always a headache to us.

This is a neutral, impartial view of most regular younger Americans: If you're born and lived in the US all your life or for most of it, you really get to understand and or have the intuition that you're really not getting or going to get the representation you want. We want the US to be a moral, presentable, impartial, peaceful inside and abroad. We want it to be admired for the right reasons , not the wrong ones, like military strength; it doesn't help us. It's the money interest back to the banks that really is another huge problem. Here in the US, it usually takes 30 years to pay the bank back for the loan. My brother-in-law will be 76 years old if/when it's paid off, and still have to pay property tax! He'll be an old man by the time it's paid off, leaving not to many years of life to enjoy that purchase! I've always been warned to stay away from credit cards, and have never had one, except ones where I PRE-pay to order somethings online.

My 1991 Mazda, a seventeen year old car, has never needed an alternator since it rolled off the assembly line in Japan! Buyers of brand-new cars want Japanese quality and reliabilty. I say let Chrysler and GM die off rather than taxpayers have to bail them out for the way they treat/treated their customers and employees (like sh*t usually), many of whom who ARE also the taxpayers. Corporations and individuals alike need to learn financial reponsibilty...

Credit lending in my view is just gaining debt.
All of our tax dollars (property tax dollars!)going to pay for corporate greed is what I think myself and many Americans are finally getting tired of. From the looks of things, our automobile companies/corporations ARE bankrupt--Chrysler hanging by a string. In retropect that company shouldn't have been helped with our taxes (back around 1980)to make more crappy cars...

The Iraq war redirects billions to the pockets of the rich. The collapse of financial institutions pretty much does the same. When are you people going to wake up to it? The United States are technically bankrupt. The people of America do not have the capacity to repay their debts. They have borrowed largely to consume beyond their means. Large parts of their capitalist society are starting to collapse. Financial institutions have been gambling on growth continuing on the same levels. Capitalism is not great at sustaining anything but it is very good at borrowing from the future. Soon, it will be time for America to understand that the talking heads were wrong!

...Bush had other motivations. O'Reilly does NOT represent the views of most if not nearly all Americans. He is just merely an actor puppet who gets paid by those with interests--in other words, very rich people. This and last time (1991) we went into Iraq, it hurt(s) our economy, and gas(petrol) costs/costed more now than before the wars! Plus the cost of food has gone up. If your interests are invading small countries to steal their oil and continue to sustain your way of life, then you have more than the French against you. You have most of the world. Judging from surveys, Americans now understand that the invasion of Iraq was against their best interest.
