ascodedia. I am not a hater! I loved my time in Barcelona. My issue isn't so much with those who robbed me but with the authorities who allow this to continue unchecked. The problem is now so great in Barcelona that insurance companies in the rest of Europe are considering raising their premiums to cover all the claims made by tourists who have been robbed. Thats a real shame as Barcelona is one of the best cities I have ever visited and it's people wonderful. It's the authorities to blame.

@Denjo1958 They steal to tourists, not to spaniards.... Barcelona is not the most dangerous city, England is more dangerous BY FAR(London is safe??). I've lived in England for 3 months, (Erasmus student), so I know what I'm talking about. And if you come to Spain and you don't know spanish is obvious that the police has problems to speak to you and vice-versa. Remember you are in another country, don't expect people to speak english. England is the country with the highest crime rate in Europe.

@TheReolus Idk I saw a lot of cops while in Barcelona and they even had gaurds with German shepherds on the metro. Seem like there was a lot of crime drug dealers and prostitutes all over La Rambla at night.

you certainly have to be careful anywhere in Barcelona, watch out for pick-pockets. my mum had her handbag stolen while we were walking up the Ramblas.
