I am a huge Deadliest Catch fan and have the utmost respect for these captains and their crew. I will miss Captain Phil. I pray for his family. Thank you to Mike Rowe, also.
As a resident of south Louisiana coming from a family who has had fishing as a way of life for years, I am deeply affected by this tragedy. I pray for the families that lost their loved ones and for the ones, including my own family members, who are going to lose their way of life and earning a living. Not to mention the environmental impact. I want to personally thank all the captains who came down and supported our fisherman.
These guys speak for the average American, they know the fishing industry and they've been through it in Alaska. They are all awesome. Jonathon, I believe, speaks for most Americans in that the government should step in and do whatever needs to be done to stop this mess. If we need help, ask for it. If we are offered help, take it. Gov. Jidal has the right ideas but Washington is preventing him from implementing them. BP messed up but our federal government is making it worse. Stop the red tape.
Thanks to all of the Captains and Mike Rowe for coming down and giving the Fishermen and their families something to get their minds off all of the bad stuff, if even for a minute! Thanks Guys, God bless and keep you, may you all stay safe on all of your "Voyages". I think you are the first ones that came down except for the TV anchors....THANKS AGAIN!

Our Government should step in.You know other Countries from the Middle East offered to come help us, because oil is all they know, and if our Government can't do it, why not let the Middle Eastern countries come in and fix it, arent we over there in their countries protecting them? They should at least be consulted, it is about time they come in and do something good for us!

oh i love the guys from the deadliest catch, i so wish they would get a page all of their own. and i agree with johnathan, they need to get this cleaned up. remove all offshore drilling, it does nothing but kill wildlife, and causes nothing but problems for the people! and they need to take every bit of money from the owners of the oil derrick. take their big fat paychecks, and let them live off of next to nothing. they are ruining lives for the future generations. it's time to go solar, & wind.

The government interrupted BP to do the job and get it done right they kept them from doing alot of things that has been reported in the news but ignored. the government was never involved on day one they waited days later it has been reported and recorded. yes is tragic but stop the blaming and just get it taken care of Alaska recovered fine once we ALL not just BP GET TO WORK CLEANING UP the GULF will be fine this is a Im not going to do it your going to do it mentality is SICK.
I am glad the Captains are there with their fellow brother's , Seeing for their own eyes. Only if the rest of America could understand that the lost of sustainable way of life that helps feed America. So much for water quality.
