  • shit goes so nuts in this video because they are all trying to compete against each other haha.

  • MORRISONS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!

  • My favorite is Morrison!!!

  • 0:55 Jon Faddis' not impressed face.

  • I love James Morrison. He's the master of stock licks!

  • licks does not equal musicianship. Thank you Wynton and Faddis for the soul

  • 0:52 Arturo Sandoval is C3PO?

  • I like them very much.

This is Better thing in the world.

    Are you agree?

  • anybody knows the name of this song?

    /watch?v=FPeLGW3psgE

  • Damn.

  • Jesus how tall is Faddis? 8 feet?

  • @TheRaptorfiend not "damn" tall, around 6'3, cause Wynton and Arturo are around 6'. The thing is Morrison looks too short next to Faddis

  • OMFG when am i going to be able to do this!??!

  • Yeah, wow, I just cant get over faddis' mask. Seriously. I don't think I have ever seen someone so composed through the registers of my horn. I have seen a really firm mask on my favorite local guy, but he is stone.

  • 2:24 "Wow pfff I can't follow that" or maybe "Ow pffff... that sounded shit"

  • holy damn, this is amazing seeing some of the best jamming with each other!

  • 4 of my favorites!

  • I especially appreciate Morrison's sense of structure in his solo. Beginning Middle and End. He does not just string licks together.

  • James Morrison is flat out horrifying. Please note...he plays all the saxes, euphonium, trombone, et cetera, et cetera I N A D D I T I O N to pulling out a couple of jumbo cans of whoop-ass in the swinging and trumpeting department. And FUNKY??!!What a friggin' monster. He's not of this planet.

  • Arturo Sandoval is my hero

  • Jame Morrison is AWESOME!!!

  • @12destruction12 two of them now

  • @12destruction12 - someone with hate in their hearts 12destruction12.... pearls before swine...

  • what type of mouthpiece is he playing on

  • aasoaso ang nota ee' .. :))

  • Os cara toca muito

  • Hell yeah! I really dig your playing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where is Wynton and Sandoval's solo???

This is all about james morrison.

Please! Let me see full video.

  • @MrSunofbeach

    Dude check/ watch?v=s3WKYG-wh-o&feature=related

It's got their solos where they like trade 8's.

  • @Whyliefortruth

I know where they play solos like trade 4 bar

my point is 'where is full solo? not 4 bar. full solo just like james morrison.

  • Wynton and James Morrison shit on all of them.

Jon Faddis always plays the same licks and Arturo was doing his showoff dumb shit again instead of playing real music.

  • @James9533

yeah man, Sandoval should go home an slow down some time :)

  • Sandoval has the upper register,

    faddis has the amazing ideas

    marsalis has the knowledge

morrison has all of the above

but i think aurturo is probably my fav and all ways has been

  • SICK

  • Morrison is as wonderful as any of them. Bravo !!

  • I can see how Sandoval is getting more and more nervous;) Way to go James!!!

  • (James) ( Sandoval ()

    FANTASTIC 5*****SATSRS

  • MORRISON IS THE MOST MUSICAL OF THE 4 --

  • But seriously, Second Race...

  • beast...

  • @jazzmangiant ah and you should post a video of you improving and screaming like every single one of these guys can do. Please Enlighten us as to how you know so much more about jazz and how to execute you knowledge.

  • I think it's interesting how he only puffs his cheeks in the lower register...

  • you would understand if you played trumpet

  • I've been playing trumpet for 10 years, buddy.

  • @Ibanez3789 yea i kind of figured... but i do the same thing. its because its easier for me to get the right embouchure for low notes when i puff my cheeks.

  • It's all about air flow. Try dropping your jaw and maybe even ducking your head a bit. Act like you're trying to fill up the Lincoln Tunnel with your air. And relax!!! Relaxation is the key to everything about trumpet playing. Rafael Mendez always said that you should use no more effort than you would in regular conversation. Puffing your cheeks usually means more effort... but we all see how good Dizzy was.

  • Dizzy is a freak of nature. Theres 1 guy every couple thousands years that just makes everybody go "WHat? how did he? Wait a sec? waht teh f***" and that was Dizzy.

Some players tilt their head foward, some tilt it back. All about a nice big air stream

  • Is this released on DVD? I would like very much to have one.

  • Damn, wonderfull=)

  • Shit that is amazing. He is the instrument. Makes it do whatever he wants it to. God damn that's good.

  • gleich platzt sein kopf!

  • brabazo puros genios de la trompeta

  • thankyou so much for posting!!

  • That is an insane combo.

  • Morrison is performing in Europe next july 16th in Jazz Parade Fribourg (Switzerland), ..... see you there !

  • What a monster!!

  • FAddis and wynton are real swingyyyy cats

  • I love trumpet, a real mans machine. Of all the greats I listened and watched it's hard to say of whom is super-human. I still think that James Morrison really takes some beating. There are some high echelon players out there however the'd invariably take their hats off for him.

    Peace.

  • Morrison exquis!!!!!!

  • I think they all are awesome. They all have their own style.

  • yep

  • I agree, all also come from different parts of the world lol

  • James, muy Bueno, LM

  • Morrison cut these fools

  • James Morrison is an absolute beast. I love his playing!!!

  • They're all so insanely good. I've gotta say, Marsalis is just so fluent and smooth, you can't beat that.

  • Second Race anyone?

  • you all know that arturo is #1 he's so badass

  • 2:38-2:49 is amazing btw

  • james morrison definetly knows how to play the blues

  • james morrison is one of the greatest musicians around...

  • um.....that's jazz lol

that's music..period. If you're good you have every right to be showy. Especially Jazz: Maynard, Doc, Dizzy..you name'em...they do it.

  • No, Faddis sounds like a dental drill...

  • where is arturo's solo?

  • on another video.. not here. itd be good to see all their longs solos

  • Is it a coincidence that he shares the same name as my favorite front man from the Doors...I think not...

  • LOL william tell overture :D

  • thats the way he roles =P

  • Was this a trumpett convention?

  • yes =]

  • Amazing!!!

  • increible

  • 3 of the greatest?? I think I see four amazing trumpetplayers?

  • then it was obviously a shot at one of the 4 up there.

  • Jon Faddis of course is in a league of his own..one can't make a comment there...

  • You can't get any better than this! 3 of the greats together...jammin!!!

  • whihc one do you think is not the best?? i guess youcould count sandoval as the weak link but he is still one the greatest!

  • Hi Rogersquawk, As below Faddis is out of the picture, he is the teacher, not the student

  • he's teachin all of them? wow!
