I did not mind the other presidents celebrating their birthdays. they had a few problems, but not like Captain Obama. He hit a very big Ice Berg.

And the dumb ass does not even care! Birthday parties, Elaborate vacations, parties every Wednesday night, Golf, etc.

We are sinking, and he is having a party!

@Velayasha Don't misunderstand deary: I hate what Obama has done to the United States of America. All in all, it appears that Obama is a good Father & Hubby. Obama has earned a downgrade for the United States, not for HIS credit report. He cannot change what he has done for the history books. The downgrade was earned as a result of Obamanomics. U know, the failed stimulus, expansion of government & spending. He was warned in Mar11, by the agencies and the TEA party movement and he did nothing.

S&P specifically said we were downgraded because of the "political brinksmanship in Washington". The fact that you had Tea Party politicians openly saying,"Let us default!" made them lose faith in our govt. ability to function. You cannot pin this downgrade on Obama and be correct at the same time.

@Velayasha You are correct. Obama can't change the fact that the reason we are in this mess is because of the failed stimulus. He spent more than Bush did IN LESS TIME, and the rating agencies and the TEA party told him that it had to stop and reverse course. D's are 2/3 the power and R's 1/3 the power of our government. The TEA party is a movement of the populist, therefore has no political responsibility for this mess, even though they saw it coming and told everyone. Shoot the messenger.

@ladylordess I'll give the Tea party credit for one thing. They have a whole lot of chutzpah. They raised hell during the debt ceiling debate. Shut down the grand bargain. Anything with a tax increase for the wealthiest, no matter how small, no matter how much Obama compromised [while pissing off his own Democrat base], was shut down. They even hamstringed John Boehners effort. Then when we get downgraded, you say your hands are clean?? Not hardly. That 1/3 of power did a lot of damage.

@Velayasha Considering that they actually have no responsibility/power for how things are done in DC, they do have the politicians scared. However, just wait and see who has the "chutzpah" when Obama comes back from his bus trip and asks for a 2nd stimulus, after the 1st one failed and earned the US a downgrade as a result. What we need now is Reaganomics, which proved to work, versus Obamanomics, which has proven to be a failure. We should have never raised the debt ceiling.

@ladylordess We agree on that. The Tea Party politicians have Republicans who are actually sane, scared. Not only them, but nationally, the Tea Party is not too popular right now. The debt ceiling debacle showed their true colors. They did not come to Washington to work with Obama. They came there to wage war. How do you negetotiate with people that? You can't. Their policy is "My way or the highway". Comprimise is a dirty word to them. And NOT raising thedebt ceiling is extreme and insane.

@ladylordess The reason why the 1st stimulus failed, is because wasn't big enough to be effective. Obama didn't just make this remedy up. The government is the only entity big enough to jumpstart the economy. Private businesses are subject to market flucuations. The government is not. You republicans are so convinced that government is the enemy. It is not when it's run effectively and money is spent wisely. A grand public works initiatave is the purpose of a stimulus. That means jobs.

@Velayasha RU aware the day before President Obama was inaugurated; the average price of a gallon of gas was $1.83? We CAN control gas prices, we do NOT have to be slaves of OPEC. Are you also not aware how the price skyrocketed under Bush, yet he was able to bring it down to $1.83. Obama has as much as caused the increase in price by numerous actions, in-actions and talk alone. However, as you did say, he is just a puppet and can't do anything about it, even though Bush did.
