Just for the record, folks, I am the Sign Language interpreter on stage behind the President. It was a great honor and a very exciting (but hot!) evening.
@ladylordess You hate Obama so much that you can't even see the whole country was given a downgrade. Not just Obama. This hurts us as a whole and you're using it as a political point to brag about. The S&P downgrade was an indictment on the circus that the Tea Party caused. They put their hatred of Obama over the good of the country.
@Velayasha Don't misunderstand deary: I hate what Obama has done to the United States of America. All in all, it appears that Obama is a good Father & Hubby. Obama has earned a downgrade for the United States, not for HIS credit report. He cannot change what he has done for the history books. The downgrade was earned as a result of Obamanomics. U know, the failed stimulus, expansion of government & spending. He was warned in Mar11, by the agencies and the TEA party movement and he did nothing.
@ladylordess Obama cannot change what the Tea party has done for the history books. We were not downgraded because of "Obamanomics", or the stimulus. S&P specifically said we were downgraded because of the "political brinksmanship in Washington". The fact that you had Tea Party politicians openly saying,"Let us default!" made them lose faith in our govt. ability to function. You cannot pin this downgrade on Obama and be correct at the same time.
@Velayasha You are correct. Obama can't change the fact that the reason we are in this mess is because of the failed stimulus. He spent more than Bush did IN LESS TIME, and the rating agencies and the TEA party told him that it had to stop and reverse course. D's are 2/3 the power and R's 1/3 the power of our government. The TEA party is a movement of the populist, therefore has no political responsibility for this mess, even though they saw it coming and told everyone. Shoot the messenger.
@ladylordess I'll give the Tea party credit for one thing. They have a whole lot of chutzpah. They raised hell during the debt ceiling debate. Shut down the grand bargain. Anything with a tax increase for the wealthiest, no matter how small, no matter how much Obama compromised [while pissing off his own Democrat base], was shut down. They even hamstringed John Boehners effort. Then when we get downgraded, you say your hands are clean?? Not hardly. That 1/3 of power did a lot of damage.
@Velayasha Considering that they actually have no responsibility/power for how things are done in DC, they do have the politicians scared. However, just wait and see who has the "chutzpah" when Obama comes back from his bus trip and asks for a 2nd stimulus, after the 1st one failed and earned the US a downgrade as a result. What we need now is Reaganomics, which proved to work, versus Obamanomics, which has proven to be a failure. We should have never raised the debt ceiling.
@ladylordess We agree on that. The Tea Party politicians have Republicans who are actually sane, scared. Not only them, but nationally, the Tea Party is not too popular right now. The debt ceiling debacle showed their true colors. They did not come to Washington to work with Obama. They came there to wage war. How do you negetotiate with people that? You can't. Their policy is "My way or the highway". Comprimise is a dirty word to them. And NOT raising thedebt ceiling is extreme and insane.
@ladylordess The reason why the 1st stimulus failed, is because wasn't big enough to be effective. Obama didn't just make this remedy up. The government is the only entity big enough to jumpstart the economy. Private businesses are subject to market flucuations. The government is not. You republicans are so convinced that government is the enemy. It is not when it's run effectively and money is spent wisely. A grand public works initiatave is the purpose of a stimulus. That means jobs.
@Velayasha ROTFLMAO. "wasn't big engough". OH that is hysterical, my sides hurt from laughter on that. We put a person in charge who spent trillions and he hadn't a clue as to what he was doing? He failed, and that is why he will be a one term president. Sure there are the koolaid drinkers who will vote for him, no matter how much he has hurt the economy or the US reputation. However there are more people who actually can read the truth and they are in the majority.
@ladylordess "no matter how much he has hurt the economy or the US reputation"--The last time I checked, the economy was already hurting before Obama set foot in the White House. You haters act like we dancing in streets of gold before Obama was elected. The housing market fell apart, jobs were being shipped to China,etc..the Bush years left Obama a big mess. If he loses re-election, then Perry, or Romney will see how hard this mess is to clean up and will not fare well.
@Velayasha You don't seem to know that the "efforts" that Obama has made has caused MORE job loss, MORE debt, MORE suffering. Now he wants MORE money/stimulus to fix the mistakes that he made?! He told us that he knew what he was doing and that if we gave him what he wanted, which he got the 1st 2 years of his presidency, he would make the economy better. Instead he has done damage and earned the US a historic downgrade!!! Ever heard "The Buck Stops Here" ? I hate what Obama has done to US.
@ladylordess You forgot to add that you also hate Obama himself. That's what the Tea Party and much of the Republican party is about. This is why your politicians can't focus on the thing that ran on in 2010. JOBS! Instead you took the time to defund NPR, and hold up the debt ceiling. Obama is 1 man. He's not a king. You act as if Congress has no responsibility for the mess we're in. You act as if the bush years didn't matter at all for where we are. It's all Obama's fault, right?
@Velayasha If that is what you think then you didn't read all of my posts. U R trying to make an argument that doesn't make sense and is based on assumption and excuses. Obama promised JOBS from day one. It is "the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I think about every night". Well he has failed!! Now he is on the bus and he is only going to the neighborhoods with low unemployment. Why not campaign where they want to see him, where they need jobs? THE BUCK STOPS HERE
@ladylordess I saw a video on Youtube once where a misguided black woman in 2008 was voting for Obama because,"Obama gon' pay my gas bills!". Even us Obama supporters had to shake our heads because, not only was she wrong, but we knew she would be used as propaganda to show how "stupid Democrats are".-- Is there really a difference between the woman expecting Obama to pay her gas bills and those who think Obama can single handedly wave a wand and bring back every job that was lost?
@ladylordess Was iot Truman or FDR who said "The buck stops here!". Well, whoever said it was actually WRONG. Congress controls the purse strings. Anything that gets spent from our treasury has to be approved by Congress. In other words, the buck actually stops with Congress. It's way past time, that someone made that correction.
@Velayasha LOL. So you are saying that the president is just a puppet/figure head?
You obviously do not understand how to take responsibility.
It is time that the man act like a man and take responsibility for his failed actions. It would take him much farther if he would admit his failure, and all economic indicators prove it. It is time for Reaganomics and no more failed Obamanomics.
@ladylordess Your words:"So you are saying that the president is just a puppet/figure head?" To a certain degree, yes. But even if you don't believe that, there's no doubt that a president is not king. We like to blame everything on him as if he is. As if he can single handedly control global markets, various wars overseas, etc.. To say otherwise is to disregard that Congress has a role at all. Was Obama able to get everything he wanted during the debt ceiling debate? No. Congress matters
@Velayasha Well then if you think Obama is a just a puppet, it certainly IS time to get a real leader. One who doesn't make blame, or just talk, but rather takes action and makes successful policies. This president is acting like a king, but we do not need a king. If a monarchy was the way America was to go, George Washington would have been our first King. THE BUCK DOES STOP HERE!!!! Stop with your whiny excuses, it makes America look weak. R's have 1/3, D's 2/3 the power in DC.
@ladylordess I never said Obama is a puppet. But he is not the puppet master either. To blame everything that's wrong in America on Obama is factually wrong, and just plain silly. Do you think when Obama's out of office, that gas prices will below $1.00 again? Everyone will suddenly have a job? The European markets will suddenly be stable and grow because of a Republican president? No. Personally, I think everyone who is running for president, is really running to be America's scapegoat.
@Velayasha I asked "So you are saying that the president is just a puppet/figure head?" You replied "To a certain degree, yes". Why would u now say that u never said that Obama is a puppet? Obama certainly isn't a master of anything, as the economy indicates. When Obama is out of office, the price of gas will return to normal, and the R's will institute policy that will begin to reverse course and undo the damage! 2 not blame the person at the top is just plain avoidance of responsibility.
@ladylordess Your words:When Obama is out of office, the price of gas will return to normal..."--LOL! So now the president controls the gas prices?? I'm sure it has nothing to do with OPEC, the boom of people driving in China and India, and oil speculators. It's Obama who made the gas prices high, right? Since Obama is responsible for everything, why do we even have a Congress? If they have no responsibilty in why the economy grows or shrinks, why have them at all? It's all on Obama.
@Velayasha RU aware the day before President Obama was inaugurated; the average price of a gallon of gas was $1.83? We CAN control gas prices, we do NOT have to be slaves of OPEC. Are you also not aware how the price skyrocketed under Bush, yet he was able to bring it down to $1.83. Obama has as much as caused the increase in price by numerous actions, in-actions and talk alone. However, as you did say, he is just a puppet and can't do anything about it, even though Bush did.
@Velayasha Congress has many purposes: In taking the country into war (with Libya) This admin is breaking new ground in its construction of an imperial presidency -- an executive who increasingly acts independently of Congress at home and abroad. Obtaining a U.N. Security Council resolution has legitimated U.S. bombing raids under international law. But the U.N. Charter is not a substitute for the U.S. Constitution, which gives Congress, not the president, the power "to declare war."
Have a blessed birthday May God increase His wisdom knowledge and long age as you give leadership to this great country we love in this difficult time . I pray daily for you

Would you want to celebrate the Captain of the Titanic's birthday with him while the boat was sinking?
I did not mind the other presidents celebrating their birthdays. they had a few problems, but not like Captain Obama. He hit a very big Ice Berg.
And the dumb ass does not even care! Birthday parties, Elaborate vacations, parties every Wednesday night, Golf, etc.
We are sinking, and he is having a party!
Vote the Dumb Ass Out in 2012 :-)
