  • Comment removed

  • Thanks Doug, looking forward to trying this. Cheers.

  • I made an appointment at the "GENUIS" bar at the Apple Store 20 minutes from my home. Spent another 20 minutes waiting for my appointment only to have the employee tell me he had no idea how I could fix it and that my iPad still worked without the sound (spare me!) I came home, looked up your video and had my iPad fixed within 5 minutes! You rock! Thank you for doing this video!

  • exact same situation

  • my sennhaisers just got pwned by this too :(

  • Why is the sidebar full of maplestory videos O_o

  • I think I just ended up supergluing the broken part in... now what?

  • i love you

  • Thank You!!!!! It worked Without the glue I just snugged the bic ink holder in there without cutting it and it pulled that sucker right Out. Made My day I was so mad when my brother handed me my iPhone like the headphone jack is screwed up. Thanks again! .

  • you are my hero forever!!!!thanks you!

  • Thank you so. Much now I can hear!

  • Thanks for the tip! I've successfully pulled out the broken piece (last segment, the earphone tip), using the exact method described in your video. The key is to find a suitable pen tube (similar to BIC in tube size) to fit in; some pen tubes are too small. Push it in -- you should feel the piece is inserted into the pen tube. Let it sit for 30 min. Just pull it out (don't twist). Note opening the MacBook does NOT help (a Mac pro tried it for me and didn't work).

  • Oh no! I don't know what scissors are and he didn't show them in the video. Help!!!

  • I love to create a video response later but off to research another problem!! I didn't even have to apply super glue, just checking the size of my tube the stem fit so perfectly it pulled it out immediately (HOW I WISH I TRIED YOURS FIRST) however now that the stem is out I dont have audio still, but put new ear phones in and it works!! ugh but only if I stay still, assuming I broke a spring with tweezers!!!! AHHH

  • thank you, awesome video

  • my headphone jack is broken.... i cant hear out my speakers because my computer thinks that i am still using my headphones.... i also cant hear anything he is saying due to this... HELP?

  • will regular super glue work?

  • ohh i luv it man... gr8 video!!! (y)

  • FUCK THIS NIGGA

  • just tried this and it worked after havin it stuck for almost a year. good vid bro

  • thanks, now to find some superglue

  • i cant hear a single word u are saying :(

  • Awesome, Doug! I just had a mini jack break off in my iphone. After some hyperventilating, I googled it, found your video and it worked perfect on the first try! Q Tip trick was no go, but the bic pen tube DOES the trick. Thanks man.

  • Yah mine broke off and I tried this (did it wrong) and I just got glue stuck in there so I'm takin it to apple and my iPod is jail broken so wish me luck

  • HELPED ME OUT !! THANKS A LOT!!

  • Does not work - my son broke off the jack in his ipod.

  • it worked! thank you!

  • This worked perfectly. I followed instructions exactly; purchased lock tight brand glue, used Bic brand pen, and used a tooth pic to apply the described amount of glue. It was late at night and I was tempted to deviate from the specifics of the instructions as is my nature. But this was was high stakes, my 14 years old daughter's prized ipod touch. It was AWESOME when that little bugger popped out. If you have problems with this method you may have deviated from the directions. DOUG RULES!

  • AWESOME!!! thanks, it worked like a charm.. all i did was put the pen tube in and pulled the tip right out.. didnt even need any glue

  • You Are God!!!!!Thanks A Lot!!!

  • yep it worked for me thanks .I was worried about the sound being shorted out your vid gave me relieve when the plug popped right out!

  • I wish I could hear this...

  • Your the best, my mom searched for this you came up and just saved me I LOVE YOU! Thank you sooooooooooooo much!

  • mine didn't work it just got glue stuck in my hedphone jack :(

  • @ZackDunlapGaming Me too! So annoying!!

  • worked perfectly... thanks man

  • wow... thank you so much. i don't know that there could be any better or easier way to solve such a frustrating problem. very creative, thank you so much for your help.

  • Ty so much. :D I have been feeling so desperate about my iPad and you have made it all better. You are awesome.

  • HOW CAN I HEAR DUMMY MY HEADPHONE IS BROKEN AND MY SPEAKERS ARE NOT WORKING

  • @CrUsHeR2050 That's not nice. Name calling won't fix your computer any faster.

  • @CrUsHeR2050 Why would u even try to watch a video if u cant hear in the first place fuck face?? Most peoples speakers work on their comp... Not his problem... suck a big one

  • @CrUsHeR2050 Maybe from a diff computer??? ya dick

  • I just started work at secondary school and this problem has popped up over 5 different pcs/laptops

Thank you so much this information

It has helped saved alot of time

  • I went to watch this vid. Thennn..OH wait..SHIT! No sound will play! I'm hopefully going to try it tonight!

  • STEVE JOBS WOULD BE PROUD!!! it is literally two nights before my sister's wedding. i put the pen tip into the headphone jack just to make sure it would fit and the tip popped right out. you deserve money and a book and idk...something for your informative video. i am SO thankful and i seriously owe you my maid of honor status. I LOVE YOU!

  • DUDE you are a freaking genius!!! This works!! My jaw literally dropped when I saw the plug pop out.

  • thanks a lot this really worked!!!

  • It worked thanks man!

  • Im tryin it right now, too bad I cant hear you

  • Tried the Q-tip, didn't work. Tried this without the glue (just practicing) and it yanked right out. Awesome! Thanks, dude.

  • how do you know if u have a stem sticking out of the broken end of the headphone jack in your computer i cant tell.

  • This worked perfectly. Do exactly what he says and this will work for you. I fixed an iphone for a friend using this technique.

  • grr, doesnt work here.. one of the contact came in front of the stem.. bending those won't help

  • awesome video, very very helpful. i also tried the Q-tip way and had no succes then on the 3rd try of using ur way it worked. just wanted to thank ya.

  • I can't here you because my headphone is stuck in the jack!

  • @beanerakacris1 same !!!!!!

  • SIR!!!!!!! Don`t EVER get tired of the praise!!! Brilliant!! Worked 1st time!!

Earned me MEGA brownie-points from my daughter ( : SHE SENDS HER THANKS : )

  • Ok, so I watched the video and was going to try it but was afraid of the glue getting into the Ipod. I searched further and found where someone said to heat an unfolded paper clip and push into the broken tip, let it cool for a few seconds and pull it out. It took me two tries, but I had the broken tip out in 30 seconds.

  • wow thanks for the video and thanks for actually making it useful i was expecting another "advert video" just like all those how to fix rings of death on 360 videos!!!

  • @dannyday58218195 - omg... IT FUCKING WORKED YOU ARE A GOD!!!

IN TWO SECONDS WITHOUT GLUE IT FUCKING WORKED AND I SPENT THE PAST 2 HOURS MESSING ABOUT OMFG EPIC VICTORY!!!

  • I have the same problem on my computer's front headphone plug which cancels the back. There is actually a way to disable it through your computer, in fact I'd done it before on another computer but some much time has pass since then that I no longer remember how. If you figure it out, please make a video on.

  • i cant hear watcha sayin coz its stuck on my ipod touch 4g ! xD btw it doesnt work

  • GOD BLESS YOU, YOU ANGEL! :D

  • Thank you guys for all the wonderful comments and success stories! I'm glad I can help!

Ironically, I have a plug tip stuck in the mic input on my laptop right now. And I keep forgetting to try to get it out.

  • dude thank you i was so frustrated thank you for showing me yur fucking awesome

  • Good video

  • I popped in the back of a Bic pen with no glue, and out popped the broken piece! I love you!

  • i didnt need glue to do it but thank you so muchh!! you helped me lots.... like a boss!

  • It works. Thanks..!

  • Thanks man I didnt even need the glue

  • You are freaking amazing guy. I used this to fix my new iPad 2. I was getting so depressed. :) now I can hear this video thanx so much

  • I'll keep this short and simple.Put some hot glue on a toothpick, and then put it on:0:54 the thing that looks like that, and then insert it into the tip of the head that broke off in the actual jack.Wait like..less than 5 minutes and simply take it out.Hope it works!I just now tried it.

  • @BlueBear4545 Oh,but one last thing, just like he said, don't put too much on it because there's a possibility that it may clog up the jack!

  • Oh my god! AMAZING! actually did it without the glue. :D

  • xan i just use regualr glue i dont have super glue

  • Can somebody post instructions cause I can't hear with the jack stuck

  • Lol I can't hear cause the jack is stuck in my iPad 2

  • legend!!!!!! just skip to 8.08 though

  • Tried maddd times..

  • Didn't work...

  • I can't hear this video, but it looks like your audio is off.

  • Will this work with a xbox chatpad cause the jack is smaller

  • hey thanks buddy it worked for me thank u

  • Comment removed

  • thank u all i did was i put the pen thing in my ipod and pulled it out

  • worked for me on a iphone 4 thnx man

  • This seems better than the Q-Tip or the red hot needle. I'm going to try this on my TV AV jack that's stuck. There's also tiny coffee stirrers that are shaped like straws & those tiny straws on the WD40 & computer air spray cans. I may have some of those. Thanks.

  • No one can hear you because the audio jack is stuck in the computer...

  • WORKED FOR ME FIRST TIME U ROCK FOR THIS I COULDNT HEAR MY IPOD TOUCH FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS !!!!!

  • speak louder next time but it did help

  • Hey man thax this helped!!!(:

  • Hey man. Thanks a lot! I followed your instructions exactly and after the first attempt it came right out. I let the glue set for 20 minutes and it worked! You saved me a lot of money and sanity! P.S. I used this method on a MacBook.

  • hey man, this is a really informative video, i got heaps from it, i liked the way you explained it all too thanks heaps :)

  • Thank u dude I had it stuck on my new ipad2 and was so frustrated .took me3 tries but I got it!!! Thanks

  • Dude. You rule. It work the first fucking time! Awesome. Thanks.

  • Thank you, I'm going to try it as soon as i get the glue tomorrow. I'll let you know!

  • ahhhhhh:( i need it today cauz im going to travel in a car !! Can you please answer; it didnt work with me i tried with my ipodtouch do u think i have to change the pen ? maybe the whole is too large for the jackkk?

  • @lila15100 Hmmm. I'm actually checking this right now. The pen tube seems to fit a little snug in there. The reason I used the pen tube was because it forms a vacuum of sorts over the tiny bit of stem left. I know that there are pens with smaller ink tubes, but I'm not sure what kind. Unfortuanetly, I don't have any way of testing the iPod Touch because I don't have a broken piece in mine.

  • @douglifelsh it didnt work with mine either, it kinda took away a little part but know part of the plugg off thingi has glue and its still stuck in the ipod u_u

  • You are the man!!!! I love YouTube!!!!

  • An easier method which i used, find a screw small enough to fit inside the jack (<3.5mm) using a screw driver, screw it in such that it hooks onto the piece and pull it out.

  • I lolled so fucking hard when this worked the first time ±D thanks

  • Lmao u chat shit but it works thank you very much saved me dismantling my laptop and fortunetly i did not need glue :D

  • @97Arran "U chat shit" -- I don't know what that means.

  • Does hot glue work

  • @Jman232425 I wouldn't recommend it. There's a big chance that it'll gunk up your socket. Plus it would be difficult to get just a small amount, I would think.

  • THANK YOU YOU SAVED MY IPOD. TOUCH!THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!

  • I have a peace of a large headphone jack stuck in my mixer, I guess it's 6.3mm jackplug, but I ripped this little flat triangular part out already with some plyers. Can I use this method, but perhaps with a straw or something with a larger diametre than a bic pen??? Thanks in advance

  • nice thinking awsome thanks now i can fix that dam psp thnaks

  • Thank youuuu

  • right, so my pen bit's in there with the glue on it, trying to follow the subtitles as best I can, though when it starts talking about a witness bench it loses me! :P

I hope I'm doing this right.

  • Thank you SOOOO much for this video. I tried to put glue in the broken end of the headphone cord and plug it back in to make it seal enough to pull the peice out. It didn't work even though it seems like the same concept. I never thought to use the pen!!!! I was so lucky that when I tested to see if the pen would fit, the piece came right out, no glue required!!!! I was worried about continually trying to use glue. You are awesome!!!!!

  • u kno, the ink in the pen actually works as a glue also, it is sticky and i got out my headphone piece that was stuck like that with a piece of the pen with the ink in it and u have to yank real quik and it comes out. Super glue probably works, but I didn't have any around the house at the moment

  • Thank you, the BIC pen was a great idea!

  • okayy i cnt find my superglue... Wait a minute im adding it to my shopping list today!!! im sure it works

  • At the bottom of the video frame, click on "CC" and then click on "Transcribe Audio." It's not an exact translation and the words are not all correct, but it's as close to subtitles as I can get for now

  • thank u so much. That part that was in my i pod has been in there for a year no sound.

  • can someone explain this to me because the broken piece is inside the audio jack of my computer -.-

  • @silvervolt7 Kinda same here. He should make the video more like they made movies in 1913 :/

  • you really saved my life soooo much!!! thanx

  • I had this problem, I put the superglue in the hole of the broken plug plugged it back in left it for a bit and then pulled it out. No pens are harmed in any way using this method.

  • @DarthHedgehog I love it. We gotta save the pens. God knows we're running out!

  • i want to be your friend simply because you just saved me from sending off my itouch....thanks man!

  • ufortunatley i cant hear this video

  • @roycesboy I gotta sit my ass down and type out the directions. I promise I've been meaning to do it. It makes me feel bad that people can't use the vid because their problem is no audio at all. I swear I'll do it soon.

  • i want subtitle.... lol

  • Dude! You saved me thanx man!

  • ATTENTION: Don't wait just 15 or twenty minutes if you are not using Loctite.Other brands of super glue may require leaving the tube uninterrupted overnight or more

  • Comment removed

  • would it work with hot glue? nd yeaaa i couldnt hear but i watched nd tried to get an idea from it lol

  • Brilliant

  • Tried gluing the broken jack once with no luck. Killer Idea with the inside of the pen. worked like a charm.

  • Why are you talking through it if the video is about broken audio, I can't hear :[

  • All I saw were lips moveing..LOL!!! I heard him a little.Im haveing a problem with a loose connection in my socket. That sounds like I gotta turkey hoo hoo..LOL!!!! I gotta find a video darnit!

  • If you can't hear anything while the plug is still inside just buy a USB audio device it's cheap $13 from micro center iMac 24"

  • Dude thanks so much. It worked a treat.!!!!!!!

  • This is a real problem in notebooks, the audio headphones fails after use.The manufacturers needs to see the problem and changes to other methods. The RCA plugs is for me an alternative. The can put on rear the PC and it is a permanent solution for this PC long problem.

  • this just happened to my brand new mac book pro, thanks man!!

  • Wow this is great but there's one big problem. I can't fucking hear it since the headphone plug is stuck inside my computer!!!!
