what do my fellow youtubers think about front kicks in practical fighting. it seems to me like a front kick could really injure someone but i would really like to see a video of it's aplication in a fight
I would use it in the style of a thai fighter, mainly for a defensive move. A lot of people don't like this kick because it is classified as a "beginners" kick, but honestly I think it is very effective. Esp, in stomach shots.
@moltenthoughts I saw an MMA fight end today because of a snap kick. One fighter had fallen to his knees momentarily, the other fighter faked a knee, backed away and began to throw another kick..... expecting another knee, he put his arms out to block... a slightly-sideways snap kick connected directly to his nose. He couldn't get up for about two minutes after that.
So, yeah, it works for about waist-level like Joeypeck87 says.
@moltenthoughts I should mention, these guys were all semi-pro. They all got paid to fight, but were relatively amateurs. It was the second fight for the guy who got KTFO...
Basically, I'm saying that I don't think you'll see this in UFC, or even in WEC.... or even ultimate fighter.
Actually! Amir Sadollah has a nasty ass front kick he uses. Its mostly a long range strike he uses from the outside though, and its not very damaging. But nonetheless! It happens sometimes.
Someone please tell me where you're supposed to hit someone with this? Unless your enemy's holding a paddle I don't see much use for it. If you're a dirty fighter I suppose you could aim for the throat ... if you can reach it,
well i have been practising each kick around 100 time a day (im serious) my front kick im proved im having problems kicking high and i cant do splits and stuff like the other guys my les dont streach help pls?
there are no shortcuts on the way of the warrior, maybe you have to practise it 100 times a day for 10 years, maybe you'll never have a killer-frontkick - the only important thing is, that you never give up to learn that technic, don't look at the level of your mates, it's YOUR way of studying, not their's
um...its not JUST about hard work, u have to study intelligently, if ur practising it wrong, no matter how long u do it ur still gonna have the wrong result.
fighters need to have heart, dedication, humbleness, but most importantly...intelligence.
You've got to stretch every day for at least 30 minutes for about 6 months at least. Yoga practice also help your body become more flexible (thanks to Yoga, I can now split).
look up leg stretches then, one i found to be helpful is putting one foot up on a high place and try and touch your knee with you chin ya won't touch it at first cause ya hamstring will be tight but over a couple of week your hamstring will stretch allowing ya to kick higher
Yeah some really simple ones. The important thing about all stretches is you have to force yourself over the pain barrier. Don't stop when you feel the pull (AKA stretch pain) try hold for at least 10 seconds. See next post,
1.Sitting down in L shape reaching for your toes... hold 20-30 secs. Even if you can't reach still hold the position.
2.Rest your foot on top of a mantlepiece or countertop with your leg in a straight kicking stance and hold it there for 30 secs. When accustomed next reach with one hand and hold your toes. When you get used to that start reaching down holding with both hands. Repeat for both legs.
3. Splits. Even if you can't do the splits try doing them to your limit then hold it for 30 secs. Do this every day. Honestly this is the best exercise for full splits.
4. Lie down flat on the ground and try to pull one of your legs as close to your face as possible, while keeping your leg as straight as you can.
@pdrProductions true also martial arts is created for strength not "Best" no martial art is consider "Best" is made for strength, competitions ,it depends how much practice you have it also does not matter of belt matters of practice" which what really counts..

his fancy kicks and uniform wouldnt last a single round in the octagon with bas rutten, or tto ortiz, james pulver, maurice smith. mark coleman etc. common take off that lousy attire an fight in th octagon thats the best place to show if kicks are indeed effective
the street is the best place to prove effectiveness.A tkd fighter would have to train in MMa to compete w/ those guys. They would have to train in TKD in order to compete with him.
so you say titio ortiz will beat these guys thats funny be cuz lyoto machida beat tito in the UFC and he is a master in shotokan karate and thats what he uses there are a lot of same moves in shotokan any of these masters will kill any so called MMA fighter
Only use the arts as a last thing.never show off.a real marshell atrest keep it to them self
