@TheSubwayMustango Yeah how about no.....The F do not need the R-46's...they have been on there for yrsss. Its time for a change. I'm glad the F is mostly R-160's!
Lets not forget before this, there were at times on weekends, when Brooklyn bound R trains did this G.O., Brooklyn bound N trains ran on the R from Manhattan to Brooklyn or all stops along the entire route via Lower Manhattan, and Q trains are Broadway Local via Manhattan Bridge.
@TheSubwayMustango You being 13 yrs old got nothing to with it. 2nd of all the R-146's isn't all of that and you got 5 more yrs to ride the R-46's. So deal with the F's having R-160's!!
Now last time when this first happened Queens bound R trains ran express from West 4 St to 34 St-Herald Sq, today it ran local after West 4 St. And the R is so damn slow when this situation happens
R trains via 6th Avenue, N trains running express in Manhattan and terminating at Times Square, and Q trains running on the R in Manhattan. i hope i do not get lost when i visit john jay college this coming sunday
yeah, i guess transferring at atlantic will be quicker since the D goes over the bridge and runs express in manhattan. i just hope the R does not mess up its service
This must be why I didn't see any R trains the day I made some N & Q train videos. If only you did this video on the 8th of November, and you rode this to Herald Square, we might have seen each other in person.
So, let me get this straight, on your end of Manhattan on Sunday, you only saw what happened to the R that Weekend. But, on my end of Manhattan on Saturday, I only saw what happened to the N & Q that Weekend. Dang, I was so close to actually meeting you in person, except I was one day too early.
I also saw the Q train running local via Broadway and I took the N train from 8th Avenue all the way to Times Square-42nd Street via Broadway Express....yeah we was one day apart from meeting each other!
Why did the N terminate at Times Square the Weekend this occurred? And, can't the R just go through 63rd Street Tube via the F line after 57th Street/7th Avenue? It can just switch to the express tracks around 57th Street, then before merging onto the Queens Blvd line, it switches to the Local track by the time, the Queensbridge track splits onto the E train track, and the G, R, V track. Same thing with the N, and Q, unless it's too crowded in Queens.
The N terminated @ Times Square-42nd Street b/c of construction North of 57th Street-7th Avenue, the Q ran local via Whitehall Street in both directions b/c they was no R trains running via Broadway. They can't send the R trains via 63rd Street Line b/c Lexington Avenue-59th Street and 5th Avenue-59th Street on the 60th Street Line were close b/c of construction hince why they sent the R's via 6th Avenue and Manhattan Bridge!
Ah yes I knew about this in advance...I get weekly e-mail noficiations about the subway advisories. I know was totally surprised by seeing the R train pulling in Grand Street lol. I was @ Grand Street yesterday making a video of the R train on the Downtown and Brooklyn bound side!
Wouldnt anyone like the mta to make a nice expensive crossover to make the 6th ave and broadway lines compatible. In case they need to send broadway lines down 6th ave or vice versa.
U know the R to Queens continued express to 34 St-Herald Sq then switched to the V line after 34 St, although the R i wuz on Saturday went local after West 4 St cuz the D had problems, so selected 205 St bound D wuz terminating at W 4 St Lower Level.
One time they sent a N train up that way and didnt know what to do with it when it reached 47-50th street. It was rush hour when they did that. Anyway this just reminded me of that lol.
prior to 1987, the N ran to Forest Hills while the R was to Astoria. they were then switched to give the R access to the Jamaica Yard as the N already had the Coney Island Yard
I wish these R46s were back on the (F).The (R) Train needs R160s and the (F) should really stick with R46s

thesubwaynut 3 years ago
Thats all you have to do....just take the D to Atlantic Avenue-Pacific Streeet b/c the Q is running local via Whitehall Street!
JamaicaQnzFreak 3 years ago
yeah, i guess transferring at atlantic will be quicker since the D goes over the bridge and runs express in manhattan. i just hope the R does not mess up its service

R160B is good-R160A doesnt have that much to it
cja61389 3 years ago
Well I like them both!
JamaicaQnzFreak 3 years ago
they are pretty much the same cars, but i prefer the R160As because of the whirling sound the doors make when they open and close
