I fail to see how a lack of belief in the supernatural, which is by definition something impossible to prove, since it's outside the realm of nature, would cause an epistemological short-sighting.
In fact i would argue the exact opposite. To litter our beliefs not only with unproved, but also unprovable beliefs makes it much harder to acquire knowledge.
Being a 'hanger on' and 'looking for a social group to be part of' is pretty much exactly what Sloan Wilson credited as the motivator for religions, stealth or otherwise.
I was briefly in the "child of an alcoholic" version of AA. I recognized it as pretty straight Christianity, which is why I left after a few meetings. I was one of the lucky ones, there were people who had been attending that group for years.
Perhaps AA is less stealthy in California.
Now that I think about it, it's kind of offensive that AA uses the same 12 step program on the non-alcoholic children, how can that make sense. Well, that's what a dogma is, I guess.
It's this new Flip camera. The quality is great but it's taken over an hour to upload and another 2 to process. Perhaps I should go back to my trusty Sony Ericsson C902.

I know a lot of New Age types, and I have to be very careful about what I say around them, lest I step on any toes.
