Im glad I found this! I just returned a z5u to get the z7u. the math says I get a computerized recorder for 600$. this is very usefull material. thanks!

What's the difference between this camera and the HVR-V1U?

The V1 doesn't have removeable lens, this cam has much petter encoding, has bigger imager, and has next-generation noise reduction. Imager is 1/3" not 1/4"

That was awsome. I finally understand what the shot transition feature is. I just got a 7u. I havent yet used it the HDV mode. Im not ready for blue ray yet. Can I shoot in HDV, and then burn on DVD. Should I use 1080i 1080p 780..??? Im just a bit confused. I came from a PD170. Love that camera. Thanks
