My credit, driving record, banking record, Internet habbits, visa transactions, where I actually go is very trackable and connected. If you have a criminal record like a DMV companies will check for stuff like that when you apply for work. they check credit, debt, tickets everything. That's the issue. You will have to walk on water and jump through an array of governemnt hoops to drive, work, shop, vacation or exist.
They can't track you with these really - they have to come within 50ft in the open and less 30ft if you driving to scan it - they are called RFID chip, look that term up and you see how they work. and to kill it just put it in the microwave for 2-5sec and it is done.
besides, on that they can store data like your prints or DNA and anyone with a scanner can read it out - so very very unsafe place for your information to be stored - the best: only our body!!

I would flat out refuse to take the Real ID. RFID at UHF 900-930 mhz has an effective read range on humans at max of only 30 feet. I know because I am a RFID engineer. Metals and water do block amplify and feedback signals. The real reason to be worried as why do we, as Americans, need another ID. Foreign travelers only have a passport, and their records are concealed by our limited access to data. How does this protect us? All it does is nationalize our identity, unconstitutionally.
