If I hadn't already had life insurance when I joined, I would have been all over it. Fact is though, insurance is just a small part of what the Knights are all about.

Im a member of the kofc myself and I do understand why people would be a little disturbed by our choice to associate ourselves with Columbus. But you have to remember that the reason we chose to call ourselves the Knights of Columbus was that at the time he was very popular and it was meant to show Americans that Catholics can be good Americans and have played an important role in American history. I think if the Knights were founded today we might have a different name but thats hear say.

I happened to be a practicing Catholic and decided to join the Knights because they do something I believe in: helping others who are less fortunate than myself.
