LCROSS hit the south polar region just before the solstice there, and that would of been planned that way.

You know, like making the picture brighter. When taking pictures of objects in the visible spectrum, black and white photos show better detail than color, so in a B&W photo of the moon, there would be NO colors to begin with. Go take a picture of a dark area in B&W and then enhance it. You'll get the same effect.

Though I have to say this NASA "mission" was a joke. Their control room, the refusal of the high five, low quality live image feeds (don't tell me this whole thing was THAT bandwidth limited), everything, just everything.
Here in California, I tried to watch the impact through a small telescope. Impact was scheduled for 4:31:20 am, and I even woke up my wife to watch. The moon was near the zenith with clear skies, but we saw nothing.
The NASA feed also seemed suspicious to me. After the first impact, with no apparent dust cloud, the camera switched to infrared mode, but I saw no heat signature resembling an impact. The video was continually interrupted, and the applause seemed insincere.
In the video I saw the camera boosts towards the surface of the moon (could easily have been somebody zooming in on an image) and then it cuts to a diagram/representation of the shuttle, then appaulse - I didn't see anything at all.. :S
So they have 50km wide buildings on the moon, invisble to direct observation... maybe they pivot on millions of hydraulic actuators to maintain proper alignment as the moon oscillates, so we never see their shadows. Maybe they are just cloaked... however they work, it certainly makes more sense than building them on the far side of the moon.
The logical step would be to attract as much attention to them as possible by announcing an impact nobody would have been able to see properly anyway.

I think it's just a matter of "it will pay for itself" which is usually the way all government projects work.

Mpeg compression fails when it comes to compressing featureless or washed out areas. It gets confused and creates blur and blocks. When you brighten it, you brighten those boxes which are slightly different RGB than the pixels beside them, and they pop out.

in the late 50 and early of 60's NASA received a lot of images about the buildings on the dark side of the moon and they saw lot of buildings on 44 areas hard to believe?

The moon has an axial tilt of just 1.54 degrees, not the 23.45 degrees of the earth. So any image of the moon near it poles will always have low sunlight levels falling on them. On a 12 month run of "seasons", the moon has: Equinox on or about Jan 20 and July 19, northern hempishere solstice about April 19 and southern hemisphere solstice about October 19. LCROSS hit the south polar region just before the solstice there, and that would of been planned that way.

I can't believe how stupid some of you people are. Those "colors" you see are called "digital artifacts." They are what happens when you try to artificially enhance an image. You know, like making the picture brighter. When taking pictures of objects in the visible spectrum, black and white photos show better detail than color, so in a B&W photo of the moon, there would be NO colors to begin with. Go take a picture of a dark area in B&W and then enhance it. You'll get the same effect.

About the atmosphere on the dark side of the moon - how much oxygen is there? how much nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc? How different is the gravity on the light side of the moon and the dark side? Then go and do some research and learn that oxygen is in the atmosphere on Earth SOLELY because of biological activity. Where is that on the moon? There is FREE Oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere becuase of biological activity since oxygen is really reactive and chemically binds with a lot of other elements.
Which is just what it did on the moon. Which is why one would have to mine for it instead of , you know, sucking it in.
And the bomb was to test for water. They already know that oxygen is locked in the moon's soil. Have since the 70s.

Though I have to say this NASA "mission" was a joke. Their control room, the refusal of the high five, low quality live image feeds (don't tell me this whole thing was THAT bandwidth limited), everything, just everything.

Here in California, I tried to watch the impact through a small telescope. Impact was scheduled for 4:31:20 am, and I even woke up my wife to watch. The moon was near the zenith with clear skies, but we saw nothing.
The NASA feed also seemed suspicious to me. After the first impact, with no apparent dust cloud, the camera switched to infrared mode, but I saw no heat signature resembling an impact. The video was continually interrupted, and the applause seemed insincere.
I am quite confused.

In the video I saw the camera boosts towards the surface of the moon (could easily have been somebody zooming in on an image) and then it cuts to a diagram/representation of the shuttle, then appaulse - I didn't see anything at all.. :S

So they have 50km wide buildings on the moon, invisble to direct observation... maybe they pivot on millions of hydraulic actuators to maintain proper alignment as the moon oscillates, so we never see their shadows. Maybe they are just cloaked... however they work, it certainly makes more sense than building them on the far side of the moon.
The logical step would be to attract as much attention to them as possible by announcing an impact nobody would have been able to see properly anyway.

It amazes me with all the technology we have here today we cant reproduce that for space too, including the moon. NASA obviously been hiding the facts, for eg the india has only been in space 2 minutes and they detected water on the moon 3 weeks ago. Whats with all the extremly poor graphics lol this explosion was suppose to send debris in to space nearly 6 miles high. They are interested in water because it's extremely heavy and expensive to lift into orbit. Finding a ready supply in space makes life a lot easier.
It could be used to supply the ISS and future projects. It could even be used for hydrogen power.
It makes sense and is the logical next step... I do hate to think of mining the moon, though. The hippie in me says "leave it alone!"

I think it's just a matter of "it will pay for itself" which is usually the way all government projects work.
It would be a huge investment, but it's pretty much essential if we want to make any progress. It takes a hell of a lot more energy to lift something off earth than the moon, so it makes sense in the long run.

Before I bought all the seasons, I was watching 700Mb Divx and Xvid copies. They were all badly compressed and blocky. Some of the episodes were unwatchable. Facial highlights would freeze on the screen, trailing as the camera moved, and break up.
I could post plenty of "reptilian" videos if I wanted, lol. People really should get it by now, but they don't...

This is streaming video from space, lol. That limits bandwidth. Then it's compressed for distribution. You took screenshots which compressed it even more.
Mpeg compression fails when it comes to compressing featureless or washed out areas. It gets confused and creates blur and blocks. When you brighten it, you brighten those boxes which are slightly different RGB than the pixels beside them, and they pop out.
It's not complicated.
