Great catch on tinkering with the wick shape, that does indeed look like it's going to be a perfect stove to go with the beer can pots. I'll have to nab one if you finish tinkering and get some into your shop come December. My QMH, as you have said is commonly used for, is more for a cup of tea/coffee, so the M1 will be a worthwhile upgrade from my current MOAB #2 that feels a little too clunky just for a cuppa!
That's a beautiful flame-pattern for a beercan pot. I'm really looking forward to getting my mitts on one of these! Glad you're taking the time to tweak them and make them perfect.
