@Fortune2point0 you probably weren't looking at other players in your ladder much, but I saw in mine and  in my friends' ladders a huge change compared to what it used to be. Players that were on other races switched to zerg because they're mostly about overwhelming and reacting which is also where most players of plat/diamond are about (mechanics/scouting).

The 'wall' at diamond/master is more about zerg being macro oriented and micro doesn't reward zergs as much as other races.

@dadumbazz SC2Gears says that there are a LOT more Zergs in my rank (high plat) than there were in my climb up from bronze. It used to be fairly even, but in the past month my games have been 68% vs Zerg, 19% vs Protoss and 13% vs Terran.

@Fortune2point0 People realised zergs has the fastest to macro, easy production mechanic if you have good scouting and contain oponents, but when they all switched to zergs they end up back in a bad spot with the mirror match up which is why they have an hard time ranking up because zerg vs zerg is kind of a coin flip. People were also used to micro tricks to win battles, death balls with spell casters and harass which zergs don't offer much for it.

@Fortune2point0 also once you have your macro down, it's mostly about decision making, multitasking and micro. Decision making/creativity is a thing zerg players in diamond/platinum lack a lot. Some will even have only 1 pool/roach warren late game even know it doesn't cost that much and wonder how they lost with after it gets sniped. Some zergs don't have much map awareness either and get destroyed by drops and warp prism because of the 1 control group mode.

jeff i would suggest watching day[9] daily # 365 basically it explains MVP's style and i think it will fit perfectly with yours its highly defensive and crushes you should really try it [and yes i know its Terran but the principles still apply]

I think if you didn't run your army into all the small chokes that you create with your building, will help out a lot. Most of your units get caught up behind your own buildings and forcefields so only a few are engaging at a time. If he is massing roaches you dont need to fall to the protection of your base so much. Maybe that will help. With that said... GG MB, l enjoy all your videos.

Jeff quick tip when playing macro game or when u play to.

Expand to 2nd before 11 min mark, Expand to 3rd by the 13-16 min mark

and so on while getting more production

You gotta plan your attacks more in advance Jeff, you invested money into a robo facility but when you pushed you had no immortals, so it was pretty much an 11 minute 5 gate push which is pretty weak... make it 6 gate or add some robo units before you push :)

You never saturated your natural expansion! Even over saturation is ok, since you can send them once you secure your third! But not making enough probes is a horrible blunder. Otherwise I think you would have won this game.

I've got a 60gig SS drive in my tower that I have my operating system and all my programs and games on then an old 232gig optical drive that I store all my other files (music, pictures, porn, etc.) on. It's a pretty sweet combo.  If you haven't used a SS drive before you'll probably notice a speed boost, I know I did. Of course I also built a new rig when I got that SS drive so it might just be better parts. Either way I'm happy.

Jeff i really think you need to stop gettnig supply capped, i watch every of your games and you do get supply capped quite often. If you think to yourself to check your supply count frequently and build pylons then im sure you can make it to even GRANDmasters. I am pretty sure the supply cap is what has been hindering your progress.

The reason you got picked apart was because he just had way more roaches then you had units. This is directly due to the fact taht yo uwere supply capped for long.

Jeff, after you scout with your first probe to check for early pool, consider just putting your probe at his natural to deny the expansion. You are not going to see much from a zerg at that point in the game.

Jeff's mistake is he got stuck on 2 base and didn't put enough pressure fast enough. Jeff played well, zerg played well, zerg just played a little better. Jeff, you gotta push out more my man. Scouts, small parties, whatever. It tests his defences, and you can see early on if hes lacking in his macro and you should attack, or has a huge deathball building up and should lay down some defence. Being passive in your base doesnt help anyone but your opponent.

Jeff, something im noticing is that you are now heavily slacking on scouting early game after the initial probe. You are rarely aggressive and now rely on a halucinated phoenix to see what it going on after the 7-8 minute 2nd scouting, if you even send a scout at that time.

he macroed like a beast, i was sure that he had to be down in drone count, but seems he was more than well equipped to pay for them. Only thing that really hurt you their jeff was a lack of tech. Massing up Void rays would have forced him to switch to either hydra (which would be favorable as they are weak against anything pretty much) or corruptors which he would then be behind in tech.

Learning hotkeys and saturating your minerals more will help you keep the macro up on Zerg players when they're on 3-base. Also, maybe getting better tech will give you advantages in combat. You just pretty much got out-macroed here for the most part maximus.. your micro is not bad for a diamond player though.

Think about it, if you build a probe first you lose a couple seconds mining from 6 probes. If you send probes first then build a probe you lose a couple seconds mining from 1 probe(building). TBH it really doesnt impact the game but this way is 'better'.

well if you are fast, you have your mouse ready on the nexus/cc/hatch, quickly click it, hotkey worker and then quickly send workers out.

I tested it in build order testing map on all possible ways, and my method increases income rate by a tiny 5 minerals a second.
