  • bigg ass oscillator :d

  • one of the most beutiful pices of noise music ever....this man is like a new mozart genius

  • They should come this way from the factory! Awesome..

  • perfect musically and visually

  • It's a space signalling device!

  • i just did my first bend yesterday, it came out pretty fresh

  • i think u paid aliens to bend an old sk1, its funny what youve done to that thing, because i know how they sound without bending.

  • I think you evoked the spirit of Jimmi Hendrix somewhere in that cacaphony of sound. Can you play Purple Haze on that thing? I just found an sk-1 at the salvation Army the other day. I want to do something much more mundane with it..... make it sound like an accordian or guitar!

  • I had exactly the same keyboard and the sound you hear at 0:46 is the original keyboard casio sound of a preset but its interesting to hear how this machine or whatever it is transforms this preset sound! :-)

  • The bendMASTER!

  • I have a Casio Rapman Rap-2 on eBay for sale extremely rare 12/2/10 check it out NIB.

  • Sounds better than Tits Boy

  • Okay... What THE F##K is going on!?!?

  • this is the true spirit of bending right here......

  • That is the coolest. Instrument. Ever! That little spinning train thing is so cool, almost creepy. This is how you turn something from Good Will into in my opinion, something priceless.

  • that is wild !

  • awesome rug dude :D

  • It's like Cronenberg and Tesla had a bouncing baby sound bomb. Best thing ever.

  • The sounds from 0:40 to 1:17 are very cool!!

  • Impressive to say the least!!!

One of the most beautiful bends i've seen on SK!!!

    Great work man!

  • I honestly don't see what's so amazing about this. And it doesn't even sound cool, just a bunch of bad stereo noises. His other more musical videos are better. This one wasn't worth the 3 minutes.

  • lol im sure a ton of under4ground bands would love to have a circuit bent casio with them hell i got asked by a few to play with them using my sa-39 but i supposed that was just a waste of my time right? to push to envelop and see what it can do? yeah i guess so fuck you man don't critizice something you don't ewven have any idea on how to do

  • Sounds amazing, looks amazing.

  • I want one!

  • dunkelkranich lauscht

  • COOOL!

  • This is almost Steampunk - cool.

  • that is fucking intense man

  • Yeahbut can he sample the barks of his dog Rufus?

  • Yes very much like TG, I love it. Thanks

  • kinda reminds me of throbbing gristle

  • These sounds conjure up images of war and death. Very emotive I think.

  • im hungry

  • WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE?

  • innovative engineering my friend! Its bends like this that make me want to do it.

  • Great work!

  • I will make it polyphonic and it will also create much more interesting and musical sounds than a circuit bent Casio, any day, but to each his own.

  • what gets me about circuit bending is the emphasis on cool boners among the nerds and the de emphasis of anything other than cool boners.

  • I find circuit bending stupid and fairly un musical and pointless. But this one is very cool. Oh and I built my own 3 oscillator monophonic synthesizer so I do know electronics.

  • then make the frickin polyphonic. The realm of experimentation is much more interesting with circuit bending because you aren't dealing with basic synthesis, you're dealing with digital manipulation with analog control. Kind of like a vsti, but with cruddier output.

  • I can think of all sorts of musical uses for this. This kind of stuff is perfect for headers and footers to songs. Bands that do this kind of stuff are CAN BEATLES STEREOLAB KRAFTWORK. I mean come on dude, don't come off as being so absolute on things that can only be weighed by opinion. I don't think coming across as "pompous" is ever in your best interests. Or anythings best interest for that matter.

  • I'm not being pompous, not elitist nor am I a musical snob in any way. Maybe I'm just getting old. Stuck in the 80's and such..... oh well...

  • I am on the fence with this. If this isn't a farce ie.. musique concrete' overdub w/ a bit of wood than this is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I have one SK1. ready to go now. Wow

  • Wicked!

  • The defenition of Epic and Awesome put together.

  • It's beautiful.

  • Great. Now post a making-of video of this machine, dude!

  • Cool sounds, but killer to watch. I wish I had as much patience to make my projects look that cool.

    KW

  • That is completely rad.

  • very nice. reminds me of team doyobi kind of

  • I think everyone agrees that you are your basically the man. This keyboard is like a Walt Disney vault classic of circuit bending at this point and I hope you get the nobel peace prize you deserve for your work.

  • Awesome!

  • pretty much badass.

  • props

  • yeah ur a superstar in my book gieskes, every1 check out his site too, it's mindbending. excellent gameboy album for free download also, this guy is a lo fi databending god, rock on gieskes, rock the fuck on buddy.

  • i agree with probablyjoel best bend ive ever seen

  • that is hands down the best bend i've ever seen. fricken bravo...

  • Wow, this is the best bend i've ever seen! I love it!

  • i dont understand. i love it

  • wonderful work!!!

  • Is that spinning thingy from an old drummachine?

  • no its self made..

  • Wow, wow, looks great, sounds amazing, I knew the future could be like this

  • very cool! good job.

  • Pretty crazy idea. I like it. It's like a

    1920's digital contraption.

  • ok so this is probably well definately the coolest bent sk1 i have yet to see.

  • lol, this is the coolest synth i've ever seen!! great

  • fuck this is awesome

  • amazing.

  • Waaaow ,these sounds are [+..+]

    Very good job you do.

  • Okay this seriously sounds like a bunch of garbage ass noise. WHY are people ruining these awesome instruments and driving the cost of them on ebay up at the same time. DAMNNNNN IT

  • Because electronic musicians like using noise in their music?

  • one, because noise is a great effect in electronic music.

and two...those keyboards are really not amazing at all. that is an SK1...basically made for this purpose.

  • seriously, dan, where have you been. this is killer work

  • Okay, the hack itself is awesome, admitting. I just really love these keyboards for what they are. I've modded mine by taking out the anti-aliasing filter, allowing for better control of the tuner screw, added 1/4" jacks, etc. I just LOVE these instruments SO much, but they are slowly becoming extinct by many much less skilled modders destroying these beautiful creatures and driving the price up like crazy at the same time.

  • Absolutely fantastic sounds you have created with a fantastic looking sk1 mod.

Do you make these for yourself or for other people!!

Also do you perform live at all with these machines.

    Drain

  • duuude.. you have succesfully created a monster!! lol

  • Awesome Sounds. Did Nike sponser your footwear? Better carpet traction?

  • lovely sounds !

  • HAHA!!! That thing looks ridiculous!

    MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

    Good stuff!

  • thats rad as shit...but you have way too much time on your hands.

  • Best sense of bodywork I've ever seen. Thank you.

  • Bravo. That's going in my favourites. If only I could do that to my SK1.

  • WOWABUNGA!

    Go mutants!

  • That's great!!! 10 points on the creativity!

  • An alien communicator!

This is creepy looking...Can you actually unplug stuff from the big drag plate and make it sound normal again?

  • yes you can.. but i recently made a better version with banana sockets instead of alligator clips.

  • My brother has an SK-1 and we get wierd sounds by putting in batteries, like one time it gave us this really strange song that if you sped up was all the instruments on the SK-1.

Really wierd what you can get out of an SK-1.

  • Thats the sickest sk-1 i've seen yet!

  • omg a timemachine o_O

  • woa!

  • trippy sounds.. it's like they're coming from a parallel dimension

  • What a piece of shit!!!!!

  • Pretty incredible. Some lovely sound and a beautiful instrument, as well. The drag contact is a clever idea.

  • Amazing sounds, thank you.

  • Holy crap, now that's what i call an anlalog sequencer!

  • HOW DO I MAKE MY OWN sequencer?

  • HOW DO I MAKE MY OWN sequencer?

  • the turntable is inspired!
