Not saying you have to play straight shout for this long, but if you establish a simple drive, then freestyle and go back to a drive it can be sometimes more appreciative

But it's a little too busy for my taste.

I'd prefer to start off with a simple church groove (shout of course) but for a few bars (or minutes) then go with a freestyle to exploit your own individual skills.

Then go back to a simple drive.

Not saying they are bad because they are all awesome, but it's just a little busy for me with a foundation that's hard to locate for someone who's not a musician.
