It's a work of Art. The Album is 5x Platinum in the USA and the DVD release is 6x Platinum. I have both. I suggest you watch the DVD and the making of parts, and then realise the work that went into it... You think you know better than Michael Kamen? It was his idea after all.

At the end, James isn't really playing anymore, but you still hear the rythm part.

excellent question for who is actually playing the solo. i always thought that kirk would be playing but as already mentioned by someone else the hands and sound dont match and it cant be james cause of it being acoustic. it sure seemed like kirk toward the end. but this might remain a mystery to those that pay attention.

James is playing it, right after the buildup to the solo when the solo starts, his hands match up with the solo, just because he's playing an acoustic doesn't mean he isn't playing the solo.

Yes James usually plays the solo, but I can assure you he isn't playing it this time. His hands do match up in terms of rythm but not in location. The first bend of the solo is played on the 14th and 15th fret (and it's a bend i wouldn't want to do on acoustic strings) and this acoustic guitar doesn't have a cutaway.
