My answer to your question, "Did you know that there was one movie featuring Dracula, The Wolf Man, and Frankenstein's monster?", would be, "Actually, there have been several. Are you talking about House of Frankenstein, House of Dracula, Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein(which did not suck), or Van Helsing?" lol
This was very good and insightful, but you should've mentioned the fact that they recycled the footage of Frankenstein destroying the lab for Ghost Of Frankenstein (1942). Boy, poor Glenn Strange didn't have too much to do in this movie. He spends 95% of the movie asleep...and then we have Lon Cheney Jr.'s Frankenstein destroying the lab.
Good review, but I was pretty disappointed by the movie, itself. First, in NO WAY was it "the house of Dracula"-- And it was really contrived how they tried to squeeze all the monsters into the story, and then didn't have time for most to DO anything. THE MONSTER SQUAD actually did a better job of it in the 80s.
ITA, Goblin... This is marginally worse than "House of Frankenstein," which at least was redeemed somewhat by Karloff's mad scientist. What was the point of Dracula posing as Baron Lattos when his true identity was found out fifteen minutes after meeting people, anyway? "Monster Squad" is a much better horror ensemble film, as you said! Even though it's more comical than this or "Van Helsing," and geared towards kids, at least it made SENSE!!
Yeah, I think MONSTER SQUAD got it right in having Dracula be behind getting all these monsters together, rather than HOUSE OF DRACULA here where they all just show up coincidentally. FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN does it fairly well too in having Larry Talbot seek out Dr Frankenstein for a cure, but that too is contrived in involving the monster.
Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein DID NOT SUCK!!!!!
