@watermelonygoodness they recorded her performance in two different places on two different days. this was just rehearsal at Radio City the day of the VMAs. this part was live on the, the beginning part in the subway was recorded about 1-2 weeks before at Grand Central station. they were playing the playback from that day, then she sang the rest live..

When they did play backs on the street during rehearsal and we were all waiting in the stairs to come out she kept saying to us how she hates when they do that cause it looks like she is lip singing. But she sang live:)
