  • yeah this game was weird ...

  • Add music video to your title , dislike

  • not bad. My only suggestion would be some brief descriptions inbetween, the character's level, which were Overkills, Vendettas and so forth

  • my first sega game.. Eternal Champions

  • It's pretty unbelievable and disturbing what this company managed to do with some measly pixels. o.o

  • 3:45 was always my favorite because the way the guy screams is funny!

  • haha i like the one you ended with

  • Man I remember playing this at 8 years old, and after seeing the Overkills, the creepy atmosphere that was created by Xavier's Stage music and Midknight (don't know what it was, but there was something about him that always creeped me out) I vowed never to touch this game again! and to this day I've kept true to my word! lol. But when you look at the games of today (most of them violent!) This game still has a shock factor that clearly overtook MK back in the day. if they made a new 1... RIP MK!

  • I've played a lot of violent video games and seen footage from even more violent games... but this takes the cake. I'm honestly disturbed now.

  • Makes Mortal Kombat look like a kids game..

  • Five years later and this is still the best fatality video on the net. That Master Plan Song just makes this video even better!

  • where do you download this

  • Who is the vampire guy?

  • @MaijinMando Mitchell Middleton Knight, aka Midknight.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar How did he become a Vampire?

  • @MaijinMando He was a scientist. Was developing biological weapon for US military. After a freak lab accident, the virus turned him into a vampire.

  • @MaijinMando a virus of his own creation in 1967

  • I had the Genesis version. Some of these characters weren't in that version. I feel cheated, lol Tridet and Xavior were the best

  • @losnf1 not only that the gameplay was a lot better with way more moves

  • I had the Genesis version. Some of these characters weren't in that version. I feel cheated, lol

  • eternal champions pwns

  • 0:18: What a way to go. Someone drops a giant turd on you.

  • @NineToes821 Better than a plane dropping one on you from several thousand feet in the air.

  • @NineToes821 That is a rock.

  • THE FUCKING TRAPDOOR. 3 rows of fucking sharp blades. He was already dead in the 1st one, but IT HAD 2 more just to be sure or something.

  • @danheboy Well, it IS called an Overkill.

  • old school fatalities rocked

  • these fatalities are more gory than the sega genesis version of eternal champions

  • nice work good speed and everything

  • Never knew it had fatalities

  • Who wants bet that Boon and Tobias were taking notes when this game came out?

  • holy crap! I had no idea EC was so violent! Never played it, but remember reading about it on magazines and the like... I'd never imagine Sega went so far back then, though.

it DOES make Mortal Kombat seem cuddly and cute, even by today's excellent MK standards :P

  • hly seriously dude? lol i use to play this game dont remember all this just some bad ass

  • 5:20 and 5:24 are in the newest Mortal Kombat, from Baraka and Ermac respectively

  • @bleachwad

yeah, you're right! ^^ maybe it's just a coincidence, but the moves are virtually the same! great over-the-top finishers :D

  • @bleachwad: You are right. Midway are such thieves. Shame on you Midway, shame on you. :-/

  • @bleachwad: You know, you are absolutely right. Midway are thieves. Shame one you Midway, shame one you. :-/

  • In the 16 years since this game was released, thousands of extremely violent video games have been released. This game remains one of the 10 most violent of all time. Sega should resurrect this series in retro 2.5D with the Havok engine. Like SF4 and the new MK. It would be amazing!

  • @HarlequinBuckeye

Totally agree. Hopefully, if resurrected, it won't be broken as fuck. I haven't played it in years, but I remember many characters having easy easy EASY infinites.

    I am thinking EC yes?

  • @HarlequinBuckeye so you want them to remake this game and possibly mess it up? and they wouldn't be able to do this much gore these days, with all the clucking that goes on about cencorship these days. it's a shame they don't make games like this anymore :/

  • @HarlequinBuckeye I hear you dude.

  • I played this game when I was 5 years old :D No wonder I'm so dark :)

  • Every good video gets ruined with shit music.

  • Name of song?

  • Who thinks up this shit?

  • 3:38 ...'merica

  • God I loved this game, makes me sad I sold my Sega CD all those years ago.

  • Damn shame Sega acts as if this game never existed.

  • 0:41 OMG INSANE!!!!....

  • It's kinda funny how the environmental fatalities are so over-the-top gorey, but the regular player fatalities are kind of, heh, lacking in comparison.

Not that it's a bad thing, it means you could either decide a quick death or humilate the opponent with environmental ones. Subtlety or over-the-top: you decide! :o

  • did anyone else notice that at 1:29 the sign goes from 1 billion sold to 2 billion sold?

  • @derpdederp101 good observation, I imagine the reason was because after showing the fatality another million would want to buy the game, lol

  • @xxTheChosen1xx blasts & chin woo's stage was stolen from midknight & jetta's!

  • someone message me and teL7 me what song this is please

  • @MarvelousBabyTax Spirit never die by Masterplan

  • I think the gore in this game surpasses even the latest Mortal Kombat game coming out.

  • one of the best fighting games shame they never made more....smh

  • Haha aw gosh, some of them are kind of lame but eh... kudos for the gore!

  • Dude I never played or knew about this version before. I guess it is time for me to go back to my emulator.

  • Shit, some of these could really freak some people out...

  • Comment removed

  • I love the way the skeleton moves to the beat at 1:09 lol

  • Never could do any of these.

  • I hope a new Eternal Champoins game gets made. But as an added twist. Thanatos' story and ending kinda revealed how all the other characters ended up dying before the original time they were to die. Funny thing is that Thanatos dies not so long after Xavier did in the same town and timeline if i remember correctly

  • @WeaponXSigma I hope so too... I've been trying to put some stuff together for a possible game :)... check out some of my vids and you'll get an idea

  • 3:55...Was a pirahna to the groin really necessary?

  • @AzraelKnight

I thought it was a baracuda.

  • all my life desiring to watch that endings, thx a lot!!!!!

pd: the shark ending scaerd me when I was a child :S

  • *night, typo

  • Great game i still like to play it from time to time (picodrive on psp)larcens vendetta still my fave hope they make a new one sooner or latter

  • A definite hidden gem of mine. Hate that I was only able to play this at one of my friends house back then and didn't have it myself. Larcen, Blade, and Midknight ruled.

  • "Hey man, check it out, I jacked all this guy's gifs, made them play too fast and added some shitty music behind it. I'm an internet star!!1!1!!!1!!!!" The guy who you took these gifs from said this on the site they came from.

  • I just remembered this game to be a horrible fighting game for sega; This is NOT the game I remember man lol. Cause this stuff is INSANE

  • Love the song. Man, this game looks cool.

  • The train stage, impaled on the spike. Nasty!!

  • Yeah, Felipecgm yeah right...humor me lol. If MK's a worm then EC is a flea....

Not even comparable dude. MK is far better, MK set the ESRB not EC....

Cigarelloz? Reason for what? Be more specific. :)

  • this game is so Violent

    makes the censorship suppressed

    any continuation of this game

  • 3:00 looks like a scene from the Fly

  • Remake this game. I had to come see this after watching MVC3 gameplay. It would be a shame not remake this game.

  • mortal kombat is just a worm

    comparing to Eternal Chanpions

  • This is mental.

    Great, but mental.

  • funny thing is that the overkills were way less gory in the original genesis version. they really souped them up, obviously to capitalize on the gore crazy in fighting games started by mortal combat, and even tried to outdo other offerings like time killers/blood storm. ;P

  • You have a nice taste of the music! 2:36 is my favourite part.

  • Comment removed

  • @glitchhunter09, totally get that EC, Blood Storm, KI etc, etc even Tattoo Assassins lol are different games but obviously inspired greatly from MK or at some points a biteoff with the finishing moves, blood etc since MK was the first game to ever have that. Gameplay wise, every fighter is different but that's not what I'm talking about...talking about the theme, fatalities, blood etc that are very much like MK. I grew up in the Atari/NES era so I've also played every fighter. Saying MK was fir

  • @MKF30 I didn't even know you replied. lol. Well that's good to know. Just a little secret though, and I'm not shitting you either, I'm friends with the creator of Eternal Champions, Michael Latham. I've been talking to him recently about making a fan game of what the third Eternal Champions game was supposed to be. One of the types of fatlities planned for the third game was where Chaos EC comes and removes The Eternal and Infernal from the same time period. Worse fate than any gore IMO.

  • @MKF30 I'm pretty sure you know why the third game was cancelled so I'm not going to bother going into it. ;) Oh and the third game was supposed to have over 30 endings or so.

  • @glitchhunter09 There were a lot of MK clones or inspired games during that time...this was one of them for sure, but it's cartoony style was really different I guess then say KI(which IMO was trying to be far too much like MK) I'm probably the biggest, most obsessed MK fan you'll ever meet. I've actually played and chatted with the developers during MKDC online...am an HUGE fan of the series and high level player. But for EC3, was it the same reason why KI3 never got made? ;)

  • @MKF30 Sega of Japan forced Mike Latham to cancel it. They said that only one Sega Fighting game franchise could be on the Saturn and that game was AM2's Sega Saturn Virtua Fighter. Sega of Japan thought that Eternal Champions was keeping Virtua Fighter from being more popular in the US. Mike Latham was devastated. It was the only time within a decade of working at Sega he felt like quitting. He only stayed hoping they would change their minds but they never did. He eventually quit Sega.

  • @glitchhunter09 Interesting, outside of sales not being up to par with some other fighters I honestly didn't know that...VF though? I know it's way more popular elsewhere and in Japan especially but in USA it's not exactly that popular. I would even say EC and KI was more popular here in USA then VF...one thing I will say though that VF did well was set up the 3D fighter well and first(Tekken gets all the credit) but VF more or less made Tekken...

I'm sure that guy found work elsewhere though

  • @MKF30 whats the reason?

  • This game raped mortal kombat back in the day. lol miss those days.

  • I wished they'd make a modern fighter out of this. The newer mortal kombat games are just getting lamer in their fatalities. This game at least stays true to anatomy even being 18 years old. MK does not.

  • 52 people prefer this with game sounds and slowed to proper speed.

  • Comment removed

  • Also, MK and every other fighting game was inspired by SF but SF never had fatalities....day and night, MK and SF are. But it's obvious after MK came out, a ton fighting games came out trying to bank in the same success MK did with "blood and fatalities" Tattoo Assassins, KI, EC, SS, Blood Storm, Thrill Kill, Time killers, Clayfighter, I can go on but you get the point I'm sure Way lol.

I agree the new MK looks ridiculously gory, it'll surpass every fighter before it including previous MK's.

  • @MKF30 Really I enjoy MK. EC's not really a ripoff as much as it is a nod. (Even had a character that made fun of congress and ESRB in it: Senator.) The game's not a ripoff since it employs unique mechanics that MK does not have. Not necessarily for fatlities but other aspects. The storyline for instance is very thick. The characters are interesting and some of the ideas behind it were interesting. Trust me, I grew up with fighters like Primal Rage and MK. I only recently got into EC and love it

  • 3:40 OUCH!!!

  • Im suprised how detailed most of these fatalties are for a game of its time. I feel bad just watching some of em... Im not bashing MK in anyway, and im definitly looking foward to the new one, but.. this game is just downright.. damn...

  • I tell you all one thing this game had before MK, and that's Cinekills.

EIther way, a fighting game is a fighting game to me. If it's head to head fighting, you better believe I'll play it. I don't give a damn how "known" one game is over another.

  • @brudel, highly disagree lol. EC=cartoony, fake looking gore.

MK's gore, fatalities=looked far more real, bloody and raised FAR more controversy...it's not even close man and the newer MK especially blows everything else away with the violence, fatalities if you've seen it....this looks so fake in comparison to MK games...

  • some people take it a little to far with these fatalities.

    Midway does it right

  • 3:40 - Hilariously awesome.

1:30 - He got impaled by a giant bottle of Cheese Whiz O_o

2:40 - As if I needed another reason to be afraid of clowns. Now I'm scared they'll flatten me by falling from the sky.

  • this game would never have been made if it weren't for mortal kombat. the only edged it could have yielded was " oh it's like mk only better (yes with cartoon instead)", know your roots and stop posting on games that your older siblings were playing when they actually came out. noobs.

  • @04mami, MK was released in 1992, EC in 1993 so yeah being able to kill your opponent at the end might have come from MK. But EC characters had lots of special moves, MK characters had like 2 or 3. EC characters normal attacks looked all different and had a personal feel to them wheres MK characters normal attacks looked all the same. The reason why EC never became so popular is the difficult learning curve - even on easy the game was pretty hard so you couldn't just have fun.

  • Yeah I agree, pretty much every fighter you see now with blood, gore, fatalities etc were inspired from MK or flat out (MK wanna bes/MK clones). From KI, Blood Storm, Thrill Kill, Eternal Champions, Tattoo Assasins, Time Killers, Clayfighter, Mace the Dark Ages(midway made), Primal Rage(midway made), Bio Freaks(midway made), War Gods(midway made) etc, etc all inspired by MK or MK bite offs...MK was the first fighter ever with blood, gore and fatalities.

  • @04mami yeah, you're right. This was just another attempt at biting off MK but failed ultimately LOL@ people thinking this is more brutal then MK...obviously they haven't played every MK game...Shaolin Monks, MK2 and MK9 coming out are FAR more brutal by far it's not even funny with the fatalities.

  • @MKF30

    Quit being a fanboy.

It's a matter of opinion in the end, but I think EC was more brutal personally. Sure, MK fatalities may have looked more "real", but at the same time, it looked too over the top and stupid. They had some crazy ones, but really, alot of them are full of LOLZ. EC is on another level IN MY OPINION. But your right on one thing dude, the MK9 ones look insane! Will definitely top this. And for the record, I prefer MK, hands down, but just think EC had better fatalities.

  • @WayOfTheMusou actually, it has nothing to do with being a fanboy dude, it's fact. MK being the first fighting game to ever have fatalities and blood then EC came just out after MKm And one of the points of some MK fatalities were supposed to be over the top, but MK1 and MK2 were meant to be more serious and raised controversy and the reason for the ESRB. Look it up...EC was cartoony in comparison... EC had some nice fatalities but compared to MK? I have to disagree there to each his own

  • @04mami

Same thing could be said about MK.

I could say Mortal Kombat would never have been made if it wasn't for Street Fighter...

Quit it with the "rip-off" card, it's overplayed.

  • @WayOfTheMusou And I can say that Gran Tourismo would not have been made if it weren't for Radd Racer. But I am not because they share one aspect and one aspect only......they are racing games. Like SF and MK they share only one aspect, they're fighting games. One is based on Cartoon characters epically beating the shit out of each other (SF, which I an a fun of) and the other involves life like violence with blood and the full on ability , and objective, to murder your opponent.

  • Respond to this video...Rip off card? I'm just calling a spade a spade. This game is a rip off of Street Fighter and MK. If you think MK ripped off SF you obviously are a noob. SF and MK share only one thing, they are fighting games. Once again thats like saying Gran Tourismo was a "Rip-off" of Radd Racer.

  • @04mami

So let me get this straight, if a Fighting game (2D based) has blood / violence in it (the latter optional), it's a rip-off of either SF or MK?

Damn, that's about 97% of 2D fighters made after those 2 games then. If you like to think that way, that's fine by me.

  • @04mami Exactly, and if anything people are ignorant to the fact that even SF was inspired by something before it Karate Champ anyone? So yeah, those people who say MK stole from SF are flat out idiots or weren't born during the golden age of video games like most of us here, and are just speaking out of pure stupidity and ignorance..The only thing SF and MK share are 2 things, fighting genre and both are among the best 2D fighting games ever made. Aside from that, MK and SF are day and light

  • None of these are that bad, especially by today's standards. And this game wouldn't get an AO, either.

  • 2:46 - Damn, dude. That lady was not playin'.

2:54 - Reminds me of The Fly for some reason.

3:55 - Really? Had to go THERE first?

4:27 - Shanked the fuck outta' that dude...

  • Damn this games fatality's made MK look like pussy shit.

  • Good lord, these finishers are downright brutal! This makes mortal kombat look tame lol

  • @mbbell23: I agree, I haven't saw some brutal fatalities, that was so bloody, It was more amazing than MK

  • @mbbell23 Mortal Kombat is lame compared to this game.

  • @mbbell23

I don't remember these at all. Probably because I never knew how to do these lol

  • @mbbell23 i agree mortal combat have nothin on them lol

  • What I meant to say was that each fighter has at least one fatality in their repertoir which represents how they themselves died. The caveman was eaten, the atlantean was crushed by a boulder, etc, etc.

  • @Emhilradim not really.. those are stage deaths, which have nothing to do with the characters dying, and the winners who escape via the eternal champion. The last few kills starting at 4:05 are vendettas, which are the only character related kills.

  • @Emhilradim Shadow Yamato's however, was different. She dies by falling off of a huge building.

  • Wow, they'd never get away with this today.

  • Note for everybody:

Most of the Fatalities ( whatever it's name in this game ) has taken from Mortal Kombat games.

So it appears that Mortal Kombat is THE ORIGINAL and E.C is JUST A COPY.

I don't mean by what i said that the Fatalities in E.C is bad, no it's FUCKING GORE AND AWESOME but i like Mortal Kombat more and like i said it is the original.

    MK FTW!!!!!!

  • @Nelly47yo

    LOL, fanboy!

  • @WayOfTheMusou For real, E.C's fatalaties is better that MK.

But what did make MK popular is the awesome gameplay and the cool moves and the great characters, also every MK game was on about 3-5 consules.

Unlike E.C which is gameplay sucks alot, no good moves, STUPID characters and every game was on ONE consule.

MK2 released on PS3 and what it did??? it became one the most popular PSN game since 2007.

E.C released on Wii and what it did??? Nothing and it gained horrible rating.

  • @Nelly47yo

I was just talking about the fatalities :P

And as a HUGE fan of both games, yes your right, MK is better (gameplay). But judging from your previous comment, you probably have NEVER played EC right? The gameplay wasn't very good, your right, but it was playable...and dude!, it had it's share of cool moves, had GREAT characters (your wrong there), and it's story is BY FAR better than MK. . MK started out as a arcade hit, of course it took off and became big. EC was console based...

  • @WayOfTheMusou

I never played on EC: CFTDS, but the first one has a good Gameplay, MKII was completly horrible, I like both, but by the way... shiiiissh guys, EC (the first one) has a Game play like Street Fighter 2, and you know what about MK ? Block with the Start Button terribly sucks.

"E.C released on Wii and what it did??? Nothing and it gained horrible rating."

-> Listen man, when a series stop for 10 years it's normal that is not everybody who knows it, MK just continued.

  • @Metalkick1

ps: I know, I did many mistakes, I just don't care.

  • @Metalkick1 Hey come on!!!

MK2 was one the best fighting games 90's and the only competitor for the famous Street fighter2.

You said you didn't played the second E.C??

Block with the start button??? Are you kidding???

A game released 15 years ago just released about 2-4 years ago and it was a huge bomb ( Sorry forgot the name ) and E.C released on Wii and gained many bad rating unlike MK2 on PS3 which is one the best PSN titles to date unlike E.C which is sucks so it's unknown.

  • @WayOfTheMusou @WayOfTheMusou Listen man, I admit that E.C's fatalities are waaaaay better than MK's

And i swear i played the 4 games ( Yes even the 2 spin-offs ) and honestly it ALL sucks.

And what special moves you're talking about??? It's ain't special ( And hard to do ).

Great characters??? A crazy pharaoh and a bitchy ninja and a stupid detecteve do you call these a characters?

MK stunned the world by it's gore and violent and made a HUGE fanbase unlike E.C which it was unknown.

  • @Nelly47yo

All I have to say is, it's all opinions dude. I know plenty of Street Fighter fans that says MK sucks too. EC isn't horrible as you put it out to be, but I admit it isn't great either. And if you follow the plot, you would know the characters are very fitting. (and great). And AGAIN, Eternal Champions was console based. When Sega "died", the EC series died along with it.....But in the end, I was ONLY talking about the fatalities man.

  • @WayOfTheMusou Could you tell me what the difference between MK and E.C in the story???

  • The greatest thing about Eternal Champions series was the fatalities...they are still creepy and gruesome all these years later....just imagine back then. They were on par with Mortal Kombat but for some reason Eternal Champions was more gritty and gruesome.

  • @JonJackson7, EC fatalities is more gruesome because in that game they feel natural - you really can bash somones head in with a club, mafia could do a drive by shooting, helicopter can drop bomb on you etc. In MK just ripping someones torso off with bare hands or just uppercutting a head so it goes off flying is too much of an absurd.

  • @brudel001 Agreed!

  • Love the face Xavier makes when he steps on the shrunken enemy.

    :D

  • Senator turning into a homicidal postman is really strange.

  • awesome

  • FAAARRRR more brutal then ANYTHING that Mortal Kombat has EVER done!

  • @murderousbastard83

Umm no. have you ever played MK? its easily just as brutal and bloody if not more so.

  • @sausagenmuff

Your kidding right?, don't be such a fanboy.

However, the new fatalities from the new MK game looks insane! It will probably top this...

  • @murderousbastard83 and yet it only got a 15 whereas mortal kombat got an 18

  • @murderousbastard83 really very brutal

  • you know, suddenly mortal kombat looks like a t for teen game now. 3:40 was just ungodly. You can't compare that to just ripping out a spin.

  • This video is still up. Amazing.

  • these fatalities make mortal kombat look like nothing

  • @von2300 I HIGHLY DISAGREE!! >=/ lol I'm a big Mortal Kombat fan.

  • Great vid, Great song, all in all, Great job man.

  • This video is great, but there is one flaw to your video, the railroad train overkill and sudden kill got switch, Dawson getting impaled by a pole is a overkill, and getting crush by a rock is a sudden kill. Overall, it great, you get 4.5/5

  • Its sad the Ramses is the only one that gets kill alot in this video U racist

  • my favorit game when i was a child lol

  • Ugh, this music is terrible. Even for power metal.

  • I remember playing this game in the Boys and Girls club when it first came out. Beyond brutal... and as I recall, some kills are missing. Like, there was one kill that took place on the pirate ship, where the whole ship got bombarded with bombs and shit. But still, its good to see these brutal deaths once more

  • I do not understand, why Sega will not republish,

Will create game Eternal Champions in three-dimensional space.

On many games in 16 bit and even 8 bit prefixes later 15-20 years are created remakes: Spy Hunter, Deathtrack, King's Bounty and etc

  • To game (for game Megadrive 2) remarkable, "light" music has been picked up. What huge happiness was for me to learn that there is a second part of game under the name "Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side".Second part of game did any more "Sega", other firm.

  • It is unique game. These are the best fights of all times in 2D. Eternal Champions it is better Mortal Kombat with a kind of game with a side. Eternal Champions has much more "special movies" and in number of innovative special movies than them has M.K. Eternal Champions left in 1993, and M.K. In the end of 1992, and M.K. With Eternal Champions looked as poverty (M.K. 1) and a deity (Eternal Champions).

  • Amazing!!!

  • "Going Postal derives from a series of incidents from 1983 onward in which United States Postal Service workers shot and killed managers, fellow workers, and members of the police or general public in acts of mass murder. Between 1986 and 1997, more than 40 people were gunned down by spree killers in at least 20 incidents of workplace rage."

And that, is why the Senator turns into a postman.

  • wow...eternal champions was fucking brutal.

  • The computers in this game are ridiculously hard, they can pull off 4 or 5 combos in a row and block almost every move you throw at them.

  • I did not remember that the game was so gore... I'm choked... :(

Was it the same for Megadrive?

  • 2:31 is just...ouch. I mean, that log just ripped through his entire body, from the neck to the knees. Just...ugh.

  • This game made the mortal kombat fatalaties look like barney stuff.
