This clip is AWESOME! As a bass player myself, I always like when the bassist gets a little spotlight. Ross is probably one of the most under-rated bassists ever. If you listen to his work especially on their first three albums and the first three with Steve Perry, he has some subtle licks and runs that to me make him one of the greats. Understated and purely in the pocket.

I saw in its first airing in April '78...

Perry was phenomenal - Patiently was incredible.

Perry is and was the voice who made Journey GREAT! But together Perry, Schon, Smith, Cain, and Valory made the best band ever, a band called Journey, enough said.

O and Rolie was really good but he left journey because he was wanting to be in the spot-light, Rolie was jealous of Steve Perry and how everyone loved him and especially how everyone loved his GODLY VOICE!! =)

I agree... You can see it in the videos... Steve would get out of the way for Neal to have the spotlight when he did his solo's with the guitar... Gregg would stand up wave his arms from behind the piano to get attention... Jonathan Cain does not do that...

I'm sure there was a lot happening that us fans will never know about...

I wish NS, JC, RV, and SS would get over the BS and try to get SP back...

I aways hated the bass player in that band...I'm surprised he can TALK! The only great musician in that band was their original drummer Ansley Dunbar (the dude in the background)...and those fucking idiots kicked the guy out and got a stupid bastard to replace him....they went from rock to homo music with that one change!

Journey in 1976 - before SP - were awesome...They played free concerts in Detroit and did a midnight show in Ann Arbor. they were BOSS - before SP BS

Valory is about as funny as genital warts. Read Chuck Klosterman's book IV and he mentions how unfunny and annoying Valory is.
