Hi thanks for your video on Chilli plants i have a plant on my window ledge which is going a bit yellow on the leaves but is flowering, how often should i water the little bugger with thanks Mick
Don't worry, its normal for some of the lower leaves to go a bit yellowy when the plant starts flowering. I give my plants a little bit of water every day but if its really sunny I give them a fine mist from a spray bottle later on in the evening. As soon as the first flowers start drooping its a good idea to feed chillies with regular tomato feed on a weekly basis. Hope this helps! :-)
thats great dude. May be you could cross pollinate the hottest and gett an even hotter one . I have tried thois with orange habanero and birds eye to hot to even touch.
red savina is hot but its not the record holder, its the bhut jolokia.and the red savina is more like 100 times hotter than the jalapeno. But keep on growing, nice setup there.
Hi did you say don't ever use peat moss in your soil? If so can you tell me why not? I just bought some organic potting soil and it has peat moss in it. Thanks great video
yeah great vid but bad germination I live in Australia and I get 90-100% germination on wild vars I've been growing Chillies for approx 6 years and have a collection of 350 varieties and some I have double but my favs are wild vars especially the ones people can't get and when they are shown to my buddies the freak out, keep on growing it only gets better but be aware of fony imitations and cross pollination
Nice video. I grew Biker Billy jalapeños(pronounced hala-peen-yo btw) which are ten times hotter than normal jalapeños. He had a drought here where I grew them so plants got really stressed... and wow did that turn the heat up!
We played russian roulette pizza with dorset naga's.
Don't ever play this game, without an emergency bathtub of chilled sweet yoghurt becauase you will cry at how hot it is lol. Naga Jolokia i think was the chilli variety. Good video! I cannot believe you licked that dorset naga sauce u made so easily
Great video, I love hot peppers. You'd probably get better germination with a heat mat pepper seeds need pretty warm soil to grow. Also depending on how many plants you want you can just start them in the 4 inch pots with the names on them, then you only transplant them once.
Im currently growing both cayenne Peppers, Jalapino scotch bonnet And Black habanero. But Would you have any idea of whereabout i could get my hands on Red savina or dorset naga pepper seeds?
Just planted a couple of small hot chillies indoors(have a hps light), but I'm not sure what kind they are :) got them dried in a arab shop in town. They have grown quite well about 7 cm now =) looking forward to the harvest. Think I'll order some of those dorset naga seeds as well.
I belive that the Naga Jolokia pepper is hotter than the Dorset Naga. Althought the chile man rates the Dorset as being hotter most other sources rate the Naga Jolokia as being about 30,000 scoville units hotter. Check some other sources
i would tend to agree with you I posted this video last year and have read some interesting stuff in about the jolokia since then but it does seem that this years fasion trend in chili growing is definately the naga
I read that a Dorset naga from a couple who trade as pepper seeds in Dorset was tested in the states and produced around 1.5 million SCU but on average they were low to mid 900,000's, as with the Jolokia only a few have been tested as they dont fruit very well according to the report, one was tested at just over 1 million with the others averaging around the 900,000 like the Nagas. I've not seen the new Guinuss book of records so i dont know whats officialy the hottest at the moment
any tips on germinating dorset nagas? got some seeds from a supplier on chilliman but i cant get them to start, tried soaking them as suggested but no joy. my rainbows and thai dragons are coming on nicly so i dont think its the conditions
rock wool cubes are great for geminating I germinated my big jims that i am growing this year for the chilimans compotion in rockwool and it worked very well
lol I am due to pot them on but its a bit cold still and I am not willing to take the chance yet but they are doing really well but a few have died off
i am learning how to grow...as far as the compost would reg cow manure work as the compost and i put the seeds in 100% compost or do i mix with dirt....when transplanted do i use 100% manure again...thanks for you input
May want to check the pronunciation of Jalapeño. Also you are doing demonstrations without us being able to see what you are doing, you may consider a second feed focussed on your operating area where your hands are and splicing it into the main mix at editing. Good camera presence.
how are you heating that greenhouse?

I'm quite sure that the Naga Morich is the hotter than the Dorset Naga.

thanks i also have 1 more question wat are the perfect growing conditions for growing cayenne
gigglemonster01 5 years ago
plenty of sunlight and heat a green house is best the uk is not the best place to grow chili
if you are mean with water and let it just dry out all the time the pepes will be hotter
PinetreeStudios 4 years ago
hi i love chilis but i was wondering do cayenne pepper plants grow into big bushs
gigglemonster01 5 years ago
they grow as big as the pot will allow
a cayenne in a 10" pot wil get plant about 2 foot high

Why shouldn't you use compost with peet?
DamageCity 5 years ago
Peat comes from peat bogs and the more we use the more is dug out and peat bogs are an important habitat for animal and plant life
so to be enviromentaly friendly I dont use peat products
PinetreeStudios 5 years ago
