I think personally that Aberdeen is a dead city, the grey clouds make it really depressing and it's nae safe like it used to be. So if your thinking of coming here DONT it's boring as hell, but i must say that the locals arenae wierd. Probably some english buggers or summin

Great town studied there and stayed for 3 years after, sunday morning from may until october, stroll to the beach in for a swim, hangover cured, grab the papers and lunch. I always loved the fact that in a reasonably big city the beach was on your doorstep

Why did Amadeus close? Ive always wondered. I was walking past it the other day and looked in the window and there was a ticket booth or something but it all still looked shiny new and untouched. Maybe if someone gets a key to fit it we can sneak in and have a party :D

Indeed it is mate. I found the most beautiful part the A90 southbound. For at least 300 miles.

Aberdeen is the most miserable place i have ever lived and the locals are awful.

Yes, it always was that gray. Unless of course you were going home after school during Winter, when it was pitch-dark (memories of running along Rose Street to catch the bus, and walking past Grampian TV to go home).

It's hard to believe that the beaches used to be crowded with sunbathers before the arrival of package holidays to the Mediterranean.

Aberdeen beach isn't pish!! I'm there almost every day!

But it is mostly grey, always wet and cold... So im usually in my car, just looking.

Nae complaints though min. Fa says beaches hae ti be sunny? Its a Scottish beach.

And no i dont sit at the tramlines outside the ballroom like a chump in my vauxhall nova...Anyway...

Aye. Aberdeen min. The architecture is all granite. Dunno if thats the same as the rest of europe? Helps give Aberdonions a nice grey outlook on things... Or "silver" if you're Aberdeen Council trying to get tourists in.

Brittany in France is granite as well. Many places in London are granite as well, but towards the black country and the North of England, it is all red brick.
