dude i totally have one of these and it makes the same whining noise at high rps (you start to hear it at like 4000-4500). Its not a turbo model but it almost sounds like it. W/e i think it sounds cool and its been running well for ever with that. Awsome car to drive too....especially drifiting in the snow.

My legacy makes a sort of whistling sound when accelerate fast and go on high revs i think it must be a valve or something Ive used it like that for like 30k km and hasn't lost power nor speed is that bad?? what could be happening?
I think its because all old ones had unequal length headers (I think), while i believe new ones have equal length (so lose boxer ruble. With a bit of exhaust customization I believe you can get that beautiful sound back though :-)
