Below is part of the text from the memo. The fact that the Executive Branch were itching for a fight with Iraq is incontrovertible. They were looking for any sort of basis of legality and couldn't find one. So they made up that basis for legality. I am not suggesting that they went in for any sort of desire for oil. That whole oil theory is crap. I believe they genuinely wanted regime change in Iraq. Yet, they lied to the people because they didn't think we would support them. Lieing is wrong.
You still have *not* address the fact that saddam as responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians who opposed him or didnt but seemed like they were a threat to his regime. What part of tyrannical dictator do you not understand? And he didnt only kill his own people with chemical weapons. He killed far more with his 'secret police'
Of course he was a tyrannical dictator. Of course he murdered thousands of his own people. Yet, that doesn't necessarily warrant invading Iraq against international law. Bush did not invade Iraq on a premise of regime change. He invaded Iraq to find a and destroy WMD's.
It doesn't matter whether Saddam was a good enough reason to invade or not. I am not talking about the morality of invading. In fact I think Saddam was a good enough reason to invade. What angers me is the fact that the President of the United States lied to me and the people's elected representatives.
Thats another thing you liberals keep harping on like a bunch of parrots; "Bush lied, Bush lied, Bush lied. Cuckoo. Bush lied, Bush lied, Bush lied.' Bush relayed the evidence that was presented to him, thats first. Furthermore the amount of time Bush gave to saddam 5 MONTHS(!!) before invading that would have been *plenty* of time to sneak out any potential weapons out of their country to *any number of nations surrounding iraq. For all you know Bush may have very well been telling thetruth
Despite the fact that we shouldn't have invaded in the first place. Petraeus and Odierno are great generals who are trying to put the pieces of the mess we created back together. I wish them luck and hope they can stabilize that country so we can come home. After all, we destroyed that country and now these guys are just trying to fix it.
Well Saddam Hussien was a good enough reason to go in. But liberal skanky whores like kyra phillips, a nitwit at best makes Americas job in Iraq much harder. But putting all that aside, the liberal loser language you use doesnt help either.
Calling someone a liberal is an insult now? Do you know Thomas Jefferson, Abe Lincoln, and JFK were all liberals? The US is a country founded on liberalism. If you don't want to be Liberal move to Nazi Germany. Also, Saddam Hussein was not a good enough reason to go into Iraq otherwise we would have gone in during the Gulf War. The premise of our invasion of Iraq was that there were" WMD's" in that country. That was a blatant lie by the Bush Administration to Congress and the American people.
No moron, the US is *not* a country founded upon liberalism because liberalism is incapable of serving as a political support structure for anything. JFK didnt sell America down the river like karter, klinton and BO. Whatever 'premise' you sniveling liberals whine on about invading iraq is rendered null considering that saddam hussen was a good enough reason to go in. Until you sniveling whiny liberals address that there is nothing to talk about.
President Bush lied to the American people, he said there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He lied to congress. These actions are clear now because of recent evidence that has come to light including the downing street memo. Lieing to congress and the American people is grounds for impeachment. We impeached Clinton for having sex without a White House intern. Why not impeach Bush for lying about WMD's and getting the country involved in a war?
I guess I wasnt paying attention. I've grown accustomed to the media selling out to the leftists because the world is too complicated for the simpletons in Washington and the media to wrap their minds around the complexities.
What a fucking joke. Just another gormless myopic meathead. I wonder if these guys ever stop to think what Iranians must have felt having their sons killed by weapons supllied to the Iraq regime by America in the Iraq/Iran war.
Of course they've thought about it. Both of them are very well educated and are experts in the history and culture of the middle east. If you knew anything about the Iran-Iraq war you would know that the United States gave verbal support to Iraq, but few weapons. Most of the weapons support given to Iraq was by France & the USSR (Who supplied Iran more later in the war).
No, no, no, you have it all wrong you dummy. The soviets supplied saddam with weapons, the proof is as clear as day but you are too stupid to realize that. When Bush 1 invaded iraqi's had russian made tanks and planes and rifles and other weaponry. Iraqs nuclear 'power plant' that the Isrealis destroyed was a russian made nuclear facility. In todays day and age stupid liberals like you are the norm and not the exception.
The 'chemical weapons' was mostly european as well. American 'private companies' may have provided strands of a particular kind of chemical that *anyone* could have bought on the free market. Saddam just happened to use to in chemical warfare. Thats another thing the leftists have you brainwashed with. You forget the kind of environment the world was at that time.
That was the premise that al gore and klinton used to convince the American public of the reason why America continued to maintain a no-fly over iraq and continually bomb iraq. So you tell me this, what makes you so sure that iraq didnt have some type of WMDs? 5 months was plenty of time for saddam to move any WMD's out of the country into syria, iran, turkey even.
It has been proven beyond doubt by the MI-6 and the CIA. The downing street memo which I keep referring to basically shows that both the CIA and MI-6 had good evidence that there were no WMD's in Iraq before we went in. Now, it has been admitted by both intelligence agencies that those weapons did not exist. We scoured the country thoroughly for weapons. With the weapons inspectors, intelligence agencies, and military efforts post invasion, it is unlikely that the wepaons were removed to Syria.
You say it has been 'proven' by a few leaked memos to the media? Do you realize how daft that sounds? So you will completely cast aside the fact that 5 months was *plenty* of time for any nuclear type fuel to be moved to syria? BTW, some how mysteriously syria was on the verge of completing a nuclear reactor that was destroyed by Israel about a year or two later. Which syria quickly covered up after Israel destroyed it. (?!?!)
Why are you and your kind willing to entertain the notion of a 'grand conspiracy' by the White House but completely unwilling to entertain the possibility of a genuine conspiracy by truly nefarious organizations?
Please don't refer to me as "their kind" cause I really don't identify myself as a liberal.I really support Generals Petraeus and Odierno and what they are trying to do to fix Iraq. Fundamentally though, the downing street memo isn't just a daft piece of work. It is a highly detailed and specific memo. But decides that we can impeach him for sheer incompetence. He went to war on weak information putting the lives of American soldiers in danger without a clear measurable goal.
You certainly are their kind. You will entertain the notion that America went into iraq on 'faulty evidence' but will disregard the possibility that in 5 months time the iraqis moved all WMDs while Bush was warning saddam. You do this based on supposed 'leaked memo' which I am quite certain that you have never laid eyes on. You entertain all these grand theories but disregard the posibility that there are leftist elements in the CIA and MI6 who want to make the administration look bad.
If the missiles were in Syria you would think we would have found them by now. The central intelligence agency has more resources, men and money than any other intelligence agency plus, they can use all sorts of interrogation techniques other intelligence agencies cant. So you think they would have found those Syrian weapons by now.
The Foreign Secretary said he would discuss this with Colin Powell this week. It seemed clear that Bush had made up his mind to take military action, even if the timing was not yet decided. But the case was thin. Saddam was not threatening his neighbours, and his WMD capability was less than that of Libya, North Korea or Iran. We should work up a plan for an ultimatum to Saddam to allow back in the UN weapons inspectors. This would also help with the legal justification for the use of force.
The first section of this video tickled the part of my brain that processes hypocrisy; you could just translate this in Arabic and switch the name Iran for America.
"If you truly want regional stability, stop the export of weapons and money which is causing more violence inside Iraq."
The US can't account for 200K of its assault weapons, it "loses" 12B in $100 bills, and funds the Sunnis and Jews while claiming to help the Shiites...

Iran wants an anti-US/Israel Shia dominated theocracy.
Iraq wants to settle scores from hundreds of years of Shia/Sunni hatred.
