Thanks for this tutorial, could you do a tutorial with more explanations on where your fingers are, cos I can't keep up! Thanks for taking the time for this one though!
I've learned the song with your tutorial, and now I'm very interested in the backing track. Would you so kind to send it to me? My mail is juanrgisbert@gmail.com.
Thank you for your incredible stuff, it's very useful for me.
PS: Sorry about my English, it's not my mother language.
you are incredibel god,tel me have do you get the sound ,what amp are you use,the decy amp?Fryers distor, what dealy are you use. is it gane ,and +the amp.thanks so much.hav learn a lot from you, keep go on.john
@johnhansen2007 Thanks a lot John. The amp pedal and also speaker sets are available from Maunel. His site is DoxyWorld.Type it in here. The link is also in my profile page. There it shows you of his products and how you can get hold of them.I use a Cornish TB-83 booster into the Doxy amp. This was recorded directly from the amp using the DI out option and this was then fed into my laptop. Recorded using Adobe Audition 1.5 then added some small delay and reverb from that.
does anyone know where I could find guitar chords to match the vocal part of this song? I'm happy to say I've learned the solo sections to it and wouldn't mind being able to include freddie's spine-chilling vocals in performance of it :)
@michaelforeverchri94 Adeson pickups, treble booster into a Deacy replica amp. My friend sells an 'amp-in-a-pedal' that will get you sounding just like this. It came 2nd to the original Deacy amp in a recent blind-test even beating the official new 'Fryer Deacy' replica!!! How good is that?
I did make it and I do make them. Mine have all the features of the- original- truss rod, chambers, switch-plate, trem, materials, etc etc....
you don't have to pay £3,500 either.Mine are less than that. The subtleties of the original are always gonna be there...even with 2 identical CNC made guitars there will be differences. We did (RS forum) a comparison using many RS makes and it was a shame that the Guyton (£7K) didn't score very highly....just goes to show you. Peoples perceptions.... ;)
great sound pal.. brian may is king.. true guitar god.. this is why we are all on here.. finding out how they play these incredible n moving guitar pieces.. nice lesson.. imagine if u could compose that yourself? As Brian said..u gotta create yr own licks. nice vid pal ;-)
Yes it can be harder but I did mention in the video an example of hitting the high high E (24th fret) if you had a 22 or 21 fretted guitar......harder yes! but good bend workout....
be alot harder with a fender! ive tried lol as it doesnt have as many frets as the redspecial. also last horizon is a bit harder on another guitar. as i have a fender type guitar.
I made it. Costs vary really for parts. Most expensive is the tremolo and bits. Finding a good part-maker can be tough and pricey but I have a good friend who helps me. I still continue to make them to order.
Depends what 'rig' you are using I suppose. Straight guitar into computer won't allow you to get the sustain.I used a Deacy pedal driven by the treble-booster.This gave me lots of sustain. The guitar wasn't full up either.Maybe some booster pedal could help you get a better result (Tube screamer or whatever) but play it into the amp rather than straight into the computer. That way you get some interaction from the speaker which will help with the sustain issue?
matt that was a great guitar piece,im learning bijou at the mo and its very difficult to pull of,i love the step by step breakdown, ure sound is so close to the original 5***** mate well done this will help me a lot...
Had another very very close listen the the Original.....I am very happy what I have assumed and included in the tutorial is very very close. This is not a performance video....only a way to show the notes, techniques etc...The F-G's are there. They are used to allow the bend note(target note) to come thru with a smoothness that the originl has..and what wouldn't be possible by seperate fretting...Listen to it very closely? You may then see what I meen???
it just seemed a bit of slightly . im not attacking your playing matt just saying my opinion on it i have tried it i realise i made the mistake on the slide down you do at the begening spot on i did that rong
please check mine try of it out . all so ive tried learning from you on sleeping on the sidewalk have a look give me your thoughts please thanks
Thank you matt for this tutorial.

It is good but it will never sound as good as Brian's solo, simply because he is the best and the original. but seriously well done. :)

how did u get a red special replica and how much did it cost?
mmp11 3 years ago
I made it. Costs vary really for parts. Most expensive is the tremolo and bits. Finding a good part-maker can be tough and pricey but I have a good friend who helps me. I still continue to make them to order.

how much would it cost me one?
mmp11 3 years ago
really helpful man ;)
question: how do i get all the sustains you get? to me it's imposible to get some of the notes you reach because i lose the sound so quick...
i don't onw a red special, neither a treble booster, maybe that's the reason.
im trying to play it with no amp, only the guitar rig and my guitar plugged to computer
is that posible?
thanx in advance for everything
mmp11 3 years ago
Depends what 'rig' you are using I suppose. Straight guitar into computer won't allow you to get the sustain.I used a Deacy pedal driven by the treble-booster.This gave me lots of sustain. The guitar wasn't full up either.Maybe some booster pedal could help you get a better result (Tube screamer or whatever) but play it into the amp rather than straight into the computer. That way you get some interaction from the speaker which will help with the sustain issue?
