We bought the soundtrack on cassette tape many years before we ever saw the movie, I was in second or third grade and I replayed it so many times I knew every note and rest by heart!! :)
Wow! This music is great! This is definitely an underrated soundtrack. Jerry Goldsmith in my opinion is like the master of love themes. If you pay attention to the movies that Jerry did you'll notice that the scores he did for movies that are more character based are some of his best works. He even said himself that he prefers doing films that are more in that area of people, love stories, and such.
Yeh its awesome. Underrated soundtrack with lotsa powerful and soft/surreal songs. Movie was cool i thought, I wanted to be a doctor/researcher when i was little after watching this movie if i could spend my time in the jungle helping humanity haha.
