  • Preppers should have a list of alternative destinations for SHTF.

  • I swear I know where this park is.... lol

  • This is the first video I have seen of his. Does he ever attempt to cover any really unprobable situations? so you know what I'm talking about... say a foreign invasion, a period of chaotic anarchy, or zombie infection.

  • thereal87 - visit the survivalistboards forums. You will find a lot more information there. There is only a certain amount of information that can be covered in these videos.

  • Thank you so much for these videos, they have taught me a lot. You should start teaching classes on survivalisim.

  • This guy has taught me a lot, I was never in the military & never grew up as an outdoor person but in my opinion, If you have a tent w/tarp, Portable Shower Tent, In tent stove, cast-iron cooking supplies, coolers, flash lights, sleeping bags & blankets, camp ring grills, crank radio, compass & maps, US Army survival guide, water filter/purifier, emergency MRE's & last but not least are some guns for protection & hunting. Maybe some books to pass time, with these items, you'll be self sufficient

  • The Katrina evacuation was for a city that had a population of only about 250k Get an area like Los Angeles to San Diego that megalopolis has estimated 13 million people things will get extreme fast if that area has a mass evacuation. I have a lot more I think about but posting that stuff gives terrorists the answers to maximize their efficiency and further their cause. By the way I don't have a clue what their cause is what is their objective.

  • During hurricane Rita, I saw what happened to Houston, Texas. People were running out of gas sitting in line on the highway.

  • And test your plan out spend the night in your tent pack what you might take see now if you have enough room if not get a hitch on your vehicle now have a trailer or a roof rack. I don't recommend dragging a camper they consume so much fuel that will be in high demand at the time. The more efficient you are the further you can go the better you odds are and your comfort can be maximized

  • You could save yourself a trip out of the zone by having a plan or you can hunker down until situations improve then you can move freely. After the storm we saw fights just to get to buy fuel. Truck stops were over loaded with refugees waiting in line for hours to buy a $10 shower you can get a portable shower now for about $30 rig up a hose on a bottle have a 12 volt pump leave the bottle in the sun so you will have hot water shower.

  • Prepare for this now you can stock pile water by filling up each 2-liter bottle with water and adding a tablespoon of bleach to kill the bacteria that might generate write the date you filled it. Even if you evacuate you could return home with no water service your pump can get damaged and might not be able to get repairs for weeks or months.

  • Every one in your family needs to have more than one light source I never leave home without two light sources just on a daily basis. Cell phone towers can only support 666 calls at a time and during and after the evacuation you had spotty service you could not drive down the road and have another tower pick your call up like you do now the system was over loaded you entered another tower area you were dropped.

  • During hurricane season never let any vehicle get below 1/2tank. Keep gas cans handy have containers for water another thing we saw was every 12 volt phone charger was sold because evacuees didn't plan for this have alternate ways to charge batteries.

  • My mother in law the General manager was saying why do we need gas cans we have plenty of fuel I said if the electricity were down for long enough your SUV would consume all you have fast.

  • Think of that too you need ammo you need cash money not hundred dollar bills you need banks of twenty 5+5+5 and 5 0nes a few rolls of quarters. With every pump with a line of cars the system is over loaded each transaction takes more time than usual.

  • The subway sold out of everything all bread all salads. The c-store had lines from counter to coolers in the entire store if it was edible it was gone we could've sold 10 containers of food just on highway 70 alone. We ran out of change purchases were rounded up to the next dollar to save time and because we flat ran out of change.

  • . We didn't officially work there but we all stocked coolers ran the register worked security we had to if she would have shut down the store thousands would have been stranded there.

  • If you have to stop get your money ready before you stop at the store criminals will watch you when you stop to see who has the emergency fund. Our family runs a casino truck stop we stayed there for Katrina none of the help showed up they evacuated so we chipped in on the job training emergency style.

  • . If you evacuate and are in a traffic jam save your fuel turn off the ac and the engine if you are to stop more than 1 min accelerate slow brake lightly learn the smith system for driving. Carry weapons discreetly and pay attention to what is going on the criminals love these events law enforcement is in disarray.

  • Hurricanes is why we bought a prius.Katrina evacuation we saw people having to stop because of fuel and food in Donaldsonville the masses had no plan you see in a evacuation the gas stations will close counter help evacuate they live in trailers it is all they can afford.

  • Good stuff.

  • good job, Will keep it in mind if anything like that comes up.

  • Great idea. I keep my camping gear in 3 tubs -ready to go,all I need is food from the pantry and water. I keep the gas can I use to fill up my lawnmower full - 5 extra gallons of gas can get you a hundred miles further down the road or more or out of an area where price gouging may have already begun. If the campground sells firewood, buy some and take what you don't burn with you to the next campsite on your route - by the time you get there they may have run short and no more will be coming.

  • excellent advice - staying away from main arteries of travel is essential in making good time, especially after any disaster. keep up the good work!

  • Great video.

  • awesome tip thanks for the post
