  • graham bonnet sang circles around almost anyone on this list.

  • Paul Rogers ahead of Dio,Axl Rose, Steven tyler, And pretty much anyone from 30-4 is better. i agreed with about 40% of this list the rest was Diarrhea

  • No Kurt Cobain? No Liam Gallagher? WOW

  • You people always build this charts putting people in highest positions because of the popularity of their band. Geddy Lee shouldn't be in such a low position, I'd put him within the first 10 positions.

  • YOU GOTTA BE JOKING MAN !!! WTF is chester benington from linkin park

  • YOU GOTTA BE JOKING MAN!!!!!

  • I like the list but chris cornell should be higher bruce dickinson should be in the top 5 and you forgot put layne staley on your list. who probably has the most underrated voice ever.

  • HAHAHAHA Hetfield nr 20 while Dio nr 30. Now You all know what kind of list it is and what kind of "experts" created it.

  • where is Layne Staley?? so underrated

  • Chris Cornell #39?!?!?!? Rob Halford #33?!??! Ronnie James Dio #30?!?!? Bruce Dickinson #8?! Axl Rose ahead of him? this is the single worst list i have ever seen in my entire life! you suck dude!

  • Comment removed

  • Vai tomar no seu cú com um gosto desses... como plant pode ganhar dos outros citados?? Freddie Mercury? Glenn Hughes???

  • for me Freddie would easily be #1

  • SEBASTIAN FUCKING BACH ISN'T ON THE LIST???!!!

  • Chris Cornell should be way higher on this list. At least top 10

  • Plant deserves number one. Sure freddie mercury is great. But beats plant? No way

  • You can say whatever guys, all of these vocalists are the true legends of rock! In my opinion, Ian Gillan is the number one for me due to the fact that he had a magificent vocal range.

  • @theodoMAN1 Ian Gillan´s choice for the greatest voice that ever lived was that of Elvis Presley.

  • Freddie Mercury jest lepszy (better)

  • LOL

  • #LOL

  • Check out Glenn's voice in the new supergroup. Pretty good video ---. youtube.com/watch?v=hy6WLBvBXaI

  • WTF? Where's Lou Gramm from Foreigner, he has one of the best rock voices, clean and powerful.

  • I really don't know why Asshole Rose ends up on every list. Last i heard screeching like a dying animal is NOT singing.

  • Maynard James Keenan from Tool = Number 1

  • good list

  • Geddy Lee should have been #1

  • Morrison should be higher up- check out Riders on the Storm, then LA Women, then Five to One (all by the Doors, obviously)- but Plant stands proudly (and rightly) at the top, confirming once more that he is truly amazing.

  • Gillan was better, not as a frontman, but vocal range was higher than Plants and mercury's

  • Rik Emmett

  • Ronnie Van Zant, Gregg Allman, Rod Stewart

  • opinions are like assholes... Some that I like that were not mentioned... Glenn Danzig, Eddie Vedder, Steve Marriot, Ian Astbury, and Corey Glover among others. I wasn't a big fan of Ronnie James Dio but he belongs on the list. What about Layne Staley or Kurt Cobain?

  • FREDDIE MERCURY ROB HALFORD ARE THE BEST

  • and paul mccartney,,,¿?? he shouts, in I¨M DOWN, he is romantyc in YESTERDAY and he change his voice in LADY MADONNA,,

  • Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant should both be number one haha :)and #3 The Boss (Bruce) :D

  • Kids, go and do some research! Listen to some Steve Perry. I have a good voice too, that doesn't mean I am the greatest singer. Get some life!

  • Mercury 2nd place??? for real?? this guy can't compared with anyone, mr Plant it's awesome but Mercury was out of contest, even was able to sing opera, for christ sake, real opera!!!! i would like to see mr plant or anyone in this list trying to do that, only Mercury can

  • number one could of went either way between plant and mercury... but bono and jim morrison deserve a better spot... and where was Elivis. and Ian astbury needed a spot in the countdown.

  • Stairway to Heaven. Enough said ! ! !

  • I say David Coverdale is #1

  • when the video finishes loading repeatedly press 5 for a porno ;)

  • Ian Anderson is NOT from YES!!! You either mean Jon Anderson or Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull.

  • Mercury overated Morrison and Plant were true singers and roger daltrey i mean listen to plant late 60s early seventies golden pipes i mean he could just wale look up led zeppelin royal albert hall that explains it all

  • 1 Jim Morrison 2Bruce Spingsteen 3Syd Barret 4Ronnie James Dio 4George Harrison 5Robert Plant 6Klaus Meine 7Bruce Dickonson 8Geofe Tatte 9david Gilmour 10Roger Daltrey
  • planetrock obviously do not know talent wen they hear it.

Steve Perry is number 16. He should be either number 1 or number 2. There is no way Robert Plant is the greatest rock voice. Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury are amazing compared to him.

  • i honestly think brian johnston and robert plant are at the same level and freddie is the best! :D

  • absolutely not. Mercury tops that list every time.

  • FREDDIE MERCURY IS BY FAR THE GREATEST! ^^

  • ive heard & seen a lot of stupid things but this!?

first of all james hetfield must be in the top 10 like in the 4 or 5th place

second....Freddie Mercury is the number one in the list!!!! IDIOTS!

  • R.I.P Freddie

  • How can anyone like Janis Joplins voice, are you all deaf?, she just screams. Screaming isn't singing, fucking awful.

  • Paul Rodgers should be number 1, Jagger should not be in the top 20 and where in the world is Rod Stewart?

  • 1-Gillan 2-Plant 3-Daltrey 4-mercury 5-Dio 6-Coverdale 7-Scott 8-Halford 9-Byron 10-Vedder 8-
  • the list sucks sooo bad whahaha

  • WTF!!!!! JAMES HETFIELD!!! He sucks in concert

  • @randyrhoads1028 he used to be amazing, but he messed up his vocal chords

  • @Oisinericjayat he never was good

  • Ann Wilson could sing anyone of these singers' songs and do it justice. It's a shame that she is always overlooked. She is the best we had and luckily she is still with us and still giving us more.

  • And honestly, I hate stairway to heaven, I think the best display of Roberts voice is probably either babe I'm gonna leave you or I can't quit you babe. The first album kicked ass

  • best top 5 ever!

  • Robert Plant is Legend...but Freddie Mercury is better.Best Singer in the Universe...

  • whta a crap robert plant 1st ??

  • Uh, I did not see Van Morrison or Roy Orbison. Whoever put this list together must have polled only Junior High students.

  • @tomf429 rock voices is what it says, roy orb isn't, sorry wasn't a rock singer. Also he wasn't anywhere near being the best singer.

  • I deem this list unnacceptable on the grounds that chris cornell is 39 and mick jagger is 9. Mick jagger is terrible, and chris cornell is not. Therefore, the placement makes no sense.

  • you may call me biased but still... I think there should be John Lennon somewhere, at least in the top 15...

  • 1. Steven Tyler

    2. Joan Jett

    3. Freddie Mercury

    4. Mick Jagger

    5. Robert Plant

    6. Ozzy Osbourne

    7. Joe Perry

    8. Cherie Currie

    9. Sammy Hagar

    10. Zakk Wylde

  • @aerosmithofficial3

Shit I am a big fan of Steven Tyler, but I thing I am a bigger fan of Freddie Mercury.

I think we would have that argument going forever, but someone who appreciates Steven Tyler could be my friend.

    Freddie Mercury FTW though. lol

  • I prefer joan jett to Janis Joplin.

  • No way should robert plant be number one in my opinion. Freddy mercury or axel rose. I am a big led zepplin fan but I dnt get why Robert plant is always considered the best rock singer and stairway to heaven is the best rock song. In top 20 or 15 but not my number one.

  • Bono, Ozzy Osbourne and Steven Tyler should be in top 10. not a fan of mercury. although i admit he as a great voice. for me this would be the top vocalists:

    1- Robert Plnat.

    2- Bono

    3- Ozzy Osbourne

    4- James Hetfield

    5- Axl Rose

  • Steve Perry should be in top 10. Also, whats with Janis Joplin being so justified in this list? Yeah she can sing but i didnt really want to be reminded of her dog face

  • @bijeleudovice2 Yeah, well I've been a singer longer than that, but so freaking what. Being a singer doesn't make you right. In fact, there are no wrongs or rights when it comes to this, only personal opinions. Get over yourself.

  • these peeps cant even sing lol....

  • 1. Joey Tempest-EUROPE

    2. Tony Harnell-TNT

    3.Sebastian Bach-SKID ROW

  • @bijeleudovice2 really right, but he had a vocal training: he made an opera college(or so, i'm from Switzerland, my english is not very well =)

  • @tritaeus....Freddie never actually had any formal voice training. (He graduated from art college.) He had a raw, natural, magical talent. His voice was Amazingly Awesome!! The best ever!!

    Freddie!!!

  • Freddie Mercury was Indian.... not British

  • @FrankieSayRelaxxx1 Actually, he was Pharsee (Persian and was born in Zanzibar, Africa. He is not Indian – stop believing everything you read on wikipedia. Most of it is wrong.

  • @Kaalec I didn't get it from wikipedia, I knew he was from Zanzibarr... for some reason I thought Zanzibar was in India... my mistake.

  • @FrankieSayRelaxxx1 Fair enough - wikipedia has him listed as Indian as well. Peace.

  • jajajajajaja....mi 4 years old brother can make better list...Plant is not better than Dio, Dickinson and Halford.... Mercury the Best...

  • @bijeleudovice2 I never said Freddie wasn't great...but even Brian May knows Steve Perry was the man. Listen to Dio sing on Rainbow's "Rainbow Eyes" as well to know Freddie had fierce (I say superior) competition in the 70s.

  • NVM thats list !!!! Nobody sings or sang like the bon scott. Bon was the best rock vocalist of all time. You can see trying sing "Night Prowler" or "Girls Got a Rythm"... Sorry but ur list is not good..... Bruce dickinson > Bon ???? LOL, Axl Rose > Bon?? lollllllllllllll, sorry man,....

  • i believe the 2 best singers of all time is Robert Plant and Jim Morrison

  • I agree that Freddie and Robert Plant should be up there, but did the judges have such short memories they forgot Jeff Buckley?! He had such an amazing range, and virtually every time he sang a song he did it slightly differently - it was as if he was taking his voice on a journey of exploration and taking you with him. And he didn't just perform a song, it seemed to be part of him. His talent was just something else...

  • Where the fuck is Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder? Linkin Park is shit but Chester Bennington should be included here too. And when Freddie is wasn't #1 this list became a joke.

  • @matthew353632 Chester isn't good ever heard him live? i would prefer someone else ;P

  • wtf guys?i love alice cooper but ....he is higher than dio???brian johnson 22/?bono better than dio?ozzy only 17?steve tayler higher than the others?hahahaha kidding right???no way!!!

  • ALMOST agree lol, being a singer, my idols were and still are Best Male Vocalist FREDDIE MERCURY Best female Vocalist well..... who else man! JANIS JOPLIN

  • 1.Freddy Mercury

    2.Roger Daltry

    3.Robert Plant

    4.Harry Nilsson

    5.Elton John

  • How on Earth is it possible for Freddie to NOT get number one! And to Robert Plant, really?

I've heard Plant sing, and I 100% believe that Freddie Mercury is the greatest. But that's just me complaining... LOL! ;)

Well, I guess I can settle for number 2 for my guy Freddie Mercury!

  • what a idiot, where is chris cornell?

  • i screamed when i saw Robert Plant as 1

    (i luv led zep.)

  • @mewcoolmew99 straight up dude i so called that

  • Are you kidding me! You seriously have Bono as #18! Bono should at least be in the top ten. He has one of the best voices of all time, and to say that Bruce Springsteen has a better voice than Bono is appalling!

  • Freddie Mercury an anorexic version of Gary Glitter who wouldn't look out of place in a Village People video. Queen, showbiz cheese . The Sound Of Music version of Rock 'N' Roll. Baco Foil Rock fronted by a big ham.

  • Yea Steve Perry !!!!!!!

  • Could you imagine if Robert And Freddie worked together it would be bigger than life and yes people dont realize Robert Plant does have great ranges him and freddie are equal in there prime but im just saying robert plant has amazing ranges everybody just doesnt realize it but Him And freddie Rock Led Zeppelin is my favorite And yes i would Put plant and mercury at number 1 i just like Robert PLant better.

  • It's about time to include Janis as one of the best rock singers, most of the list are mysoginist and never consider any woman. Janis is the Queen FOREVAH!

  • what about maggie bell,rankie millar,paul rodgers,mick ruber lips jaggar,van morrison,eric burdon,noddy holder,bla de bla

  • Chris cornell @ 39?! Lame :|

  • I've heard singin' sepultura, good voice, The singer of metallica have a good voice, Freddie Mercury for me is the greatest voice, but where is Matthew Bellamy (muse)? And Jeff Buckley (or Tim Buckley so). I'm not sure about Robert Plant. Where is Tom Yorke (radiohead)? .................

  • Ian Guillan, Ozzy Osbourne and Robert Plant for me

  • I love Zeppelin, but I don't quite know about this...

  • so...Where is Jeff Buckley on that list again?

  • watch?v=OKP6_tSgrEU

  • Ozzy -=- Nee be more up in top

  • Surprised Lou gramm wasn't on here.

  • who gives a fuck! Everyone who is a fucking good singer is in the list, not any shit cunts, the only one i would dissagree with would be bono, i hate the cunt!

  • When everything is said and done, which one would you want your daughter to marry? I'd want #12.

  • Axl rose? really? Stevie Nicks, Ann wilson, david gilmour

  • What P.Rogers doing here???Gillan is the best!!!!

  • i would rank bruce dickinson and dio higher

    5. Joe Elliot

    6.Ann Wilson

    7.Brian Johnson

    8.Brad Delp

    9.Sting

    10. Roland Orzabal

  • freddie should be the one because of his carisma, voice and the live concerts, fred on the 80´s still the best, plant was no longer anymore that good performer and you can compare it in live aid ´85.

gillan should be second by the way :)

  • WELL fREDDIE SHOULD BE ON THE 1ST PLACE, HE'S A LEGEND

  • and where is Klaus Meine?!

  • I love 'Janis Joplin. She is the greatest.

  • Here's the greatest rock vocalist of all...

    watch?v=JhVLe30ocew

Although Freddie and Jon Bon Jovi are great too..

  • The Greatest voice in Rock? Elvis... This list is bull...

  • The only thing that is right on this list is robert and freddy where the fuck is Jeff Buckley do your fucking reasearch

  • who ever made this list is retarded.

  • I have to say, I go with Freddie

  • Freddie has the most beautiful voice with no doubt, Robert is a good singer but Freddie has a lot of styles and his vocal arrangements are perfect. Robert does not have that kind of work.

  • david lee roth is better than hagar

  • Jim Morrison is the greatest of all time.

  • wtf steve perry couldn't take out just one of these guys and one chick. btw for the lame its the guy from journey

  • plant deserves 1 his band is the most popular band in the world. uh... blam

  • whaaaaat? this most popular not talent cause dio is better than ozzy at singing for sure

  • This survey sucks. Bruce Springsteen and Mick Jagger have a better voice than Steve Perry? Give me a break. And where the hell is Elvis???

  • number 1 is elvis.. get found the others...

  • Chris Cornell at least top 10............fucking give a listen to Jesus Christ Pose again

  • What kind of list is this.

    Chad Kroeger

    Scott Stapp

    Chris Robertson

these guys are the real deal

  • Comment removed

  • 1Freedie

    2Ozzy

    3Axl

  • @stefanulet swap ozzy and axl with dio and plant and it would work

  • well that was crap no offence, Freddie is #1 and really David Coverdale b4 Axl Rose...pssssh ya right

  • I have to agree that was crap. Mr Freddie Mercury should have been no1

  • More propaganda from the music "politicians". The five greatest voices in rock all-time are: 1) Steve Perry 2) Joe Elliott 3) Ronnie James Dio 4) David Coverdale 5) Klaus Meine. Honorable mention goes to Jack Douglas. These lists that Rolling Stone or whoever comes up with are LAUGHABLE.

  • wtf steven tyler ftw

  • Axl Rose , Jon Bon Jovi , Paul Rodgers and Roger Daltray all come ahead of Steven Tyler? What a joke

  • @Aeroguns994 and a bad one

  • nobody come even close to freddie

  • the judges are british too of course

  • buuuuuuuu tyler 13??? freddie 2??? THE FUCK!

  • this is my top three:

    freddie mercury;

    robert plant;

    paul stanley.

  • *rofl*

Thanks, rodd7. You just made my day.

What more is there to say? Actually that sums up that oh so complicated matter pretty well. And c'mon, at the end you really have to go for the golden haired god from the land of the ice and snow who from time to time enjoys having his lemon squeezed quite a bit - well, until the juice runs down his legs, that is.

    ;-)

  • Lets see here I'm a hot Guitarist looking for a singer, I have Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury and John Lennon in front of me who should i pick ? ; But wait someone knocks on the door and says Hey hey mama said the way you move,

Gon' make you sweat, gon' make you groove

  • 1. Freddie Mercury 2. Robert Plant 3. Roger Daltry 4. Brad Delp 5. Ozzy Osbourne 6. Kurt Cobain 7. Axl Rose 8. Billie Joe Armstrong 9. Jon Bon Jovi 10. Mick Jagger WHERE WAS BRAD DELP???
  • 1 - freddie

  • kurt cobain had an amazing voice as well

  • freddie is or was a total genius...it's just amazing how he transformed his voice from that sweet and rock-growling voice (70's) into that huge operatic chest voice (80s)...

  • freddie!!!!!

  • 1.Freddie Mercury 2.Robert Plant 3.Bruce Dickinson 4.Ian Gillian 5.Ozzy 6.Chris Cornell 7.Axl Rose 8.Rob Halford 9.John Fogerty 10.Ronnie James Dio 11.Ian Astbury 12.Roger Daltrey 13.Bon Scott 14.Mick Jagger 15. Sebastian Bach
  • 1.Freddie Mercury 2.Steven Tyler 3.Axl Rose 4.Jon Bon Jovi 5.James Hetfield 6.Bono

  • Freddy Mercury is THE BEST ROCK VOCALIST of all time though I can understand that someone prefers Robert Plant better...but how the hell can Janis Joplin be just on the 21? not to mention that Bon Jovi, who I love, is higher in the list than the amazing Steven Tyler... WHO MADE THIS LIST?

  • @puximball the amazing steven tyler... at least u know he's good, even some aerosmith fans don't realize that

  • esta es la lista que hicieron miles de personas al rededor del mundo de la revista planea rock

  • @puximball Please , dont insist in fred cause he is not a rock singer its a pop singer...I think is overrated ..... shuold be in 66 position

  • @juanjo0202 .......FREDDIE is THE BEST!!!! Of all time......forever and ever!

Stop commenting on a singer you know nothing about......can't even get his name right! You make the same lousy remarks ab. him & Queen.......cuz you have No clue ab. them! So, stfu! QUEEN ROCKSSSSSSS!

"Freddie's not a rock singer".......Are you insane?? Or just dumb!

  • @LOVEMYFREDDIE I am dumb and insane but this is not excuse to say that queen and fredie ( culerazo ) is not a rock singer is pure shit glam!!!!!!!

  • @puximball i totally agree with you. steven tyler lower thsn bon jovi??? i believe freddy is the best singer EVER no matter what they say
