  • what substrate is that?

  • @AwesomeAssassin1000 it's actually oil absorber that you can get at somewhere like wal-mart. It has to be specifically the right stuff because if it's not exactly right you can have problems. Mine wasn't the right stuff and I had problems. In theory it's supposed to be clay or something with minerals. I wouldn't recommend it.

  • Beautiful tank. :)

  • so what kind of fish are actuallyy in tho tank?

  • @acgrs8 That tank was long ago but from what I remember there were dwarf neon rainbows guppies angelfish and a pearl gouramis or two, maybe some other fish too but I don't remember that stage of the tank.

  • @Psittac20 oh thank you the fish are buetiful

  • nice angel. check out my scape

  • Really beautiful aquascaping & nice fish. Looks great!

  • how do you replace substrate? i wanna change my gravel to sand but im scared my fish will die because im removing the beneficial bacteria in the gravel :( please help.

  • @mikecheesy1 The best thing I did in fish keeping was stop worrying so much, the internet is full of people who harp on the smallest thing. It's a hobby to enjoy, not worry about. At worst your tank will go through a mini cycle while the filters compensate until the gravel recultures. Just put all your fish into buckets, drain the water scoop out the old put in the new refill and tada. If you want you can keep alot of water but I think it's worrying about nothing.

  • @Psittac20 Agreed, so many people will yell at you for the slightest thing you do that they think is wrong. If you have a good filter going, you can make huge changes to your tank without affecting your fish in the slightest.

  • @Psittac20 Excellent advise, another way to go about it is to put the old gravel into some nylon stockings and tie them in a knot and lay them on top of the new gravel and leave them there for a few weeks until your new gravel gets established. Not the most attractive look but will prevent a mini cycle.

  • @DPhelpfan Great idea, the more biological filtration you can keep the better. And who cares if it doesn't look that good, it's only temporary

  • nice videos comment rate and subb ill do the same

  • Won't the big ones eat the smaller ones?

  • @ZombehWolf Nothing fits in anyones mouth so everyone is safe, if there were female guppies then the babies would be lunch but those were all males

  • That song was GAY!!!!

  • @Raishionix Wow..... your so eloquent!

  • @Raishionix Song just changed BTW, I didn't like it but your still a douche

  • @Raishionix Rude.

  • is that a bamboo in your tank? i didn;t know we could put bamboo

  • @zerounite Yeah bamboo survives under water rather well although it has a chance to die off. The thing is it won't grow until it's leaves are above the water surface.

  • I saw a guppy

  • @punkorbepunkd Yeah guppies are one of my favorites

  • what song is in the background??Great song..

  • beautiful black angel

  • @boltp777 Thanks :), check out my other vid called angelfish community tank if you want to see some black veils

  • why is it soo loud lol i couldnt put up with that can hardly hear myne

  • thats one sexy angelfish

  • This tank will no longer be a planted tank, it'll be a fake tank to display angels

  • amozon swords dude angelfish love to keep them in their territoy i had 2 breeding altum angels thats what i used and i had pleco and wild river eel in there and they never ate the eggs gotta have amazon sword plant they lay the eggs on them and such can't git into it right nwo lil drunk

  • So are the angels breeding or are they just getting aggressive towards each other?

  • theres a mated pair that just the other day got the first batch of eggs to hatch, they didn't know what to do with them but it's progress.

Switching to real plants is hard to do with the amount of aggression you get from mated angels, they need to have territory to defend, not an open tank

  • Interesting. I guess since yours are bigger. Mine lay eggs in the summer time like every other week! They're afraid to attack the bottom feeders when they eat the eggs but they sure fend off the smaller fish and my hand!

You explained why they need plants to keep them seperated but not why they can't be alive...

I still don't see why live plant's can't be used. The added waste could use an extra "filter".

    Good luck

  • Live plants are ok, but how many live plants can you buy big enough to seperate the tank? While I wait for these live plants to get big enough I'm having alot of issues trying to figure out what to do about the aggression because it's getting pretty bad.

If you want more success at keeping the eggs your probably gonna have to remove all bottom dwellers because I had the same problem. Took the pleco out and right away the next batch survived. Cory cats will go next.

  • Oh Ya Ok I just wasn't looking at it from the right prespective. Right now my maricopa is growing SO fast and out of control that it's almost kinda annoying! I have to maintain the tank every week because the plants grow so tall that they start to form a canopy or umbrella for the rest of the smaller plants as they grow along the surface of the water.

I wonder how much it would cost if I wanted to ship some out to people so they could get it goin on in their tank as it's rarely found in lfs
