@HAWAIIANSLINGR maybe you should take your blinders off .. might have better luck seeing the collision. It’s not a major collision, but it's a collision nonetheless. Even that 'bump' could cause serious damage considering the couple hundred thousand tonnes of kinetic energy stored behind the momentum of the ship – even at that slow velocity.

I would say they probably were docked next to each another, and that the Carnival ship was just about to depart. Once the moorings were loosened they miscalculated the wind force hitting the ship side until everything went shit wrong. They probably only had 20 or so seconds to react, and they failed!

We were on the Carnival Legend that day. We were just pulling out of port, and a huge gust of wind pushed us across the bay into the other ship. Our balcony cabin was on the port side aft. . I watched the ship getting closer but still couldn't believe what I was seeing. We had to wait to get clearance that the ship was ok, then continued on with the cruise. When we arrived at our next port, they were already painting the repaired ship. Unbelievable.
