I lived in Germany for three years in a town called Bliealf near Pruem close by the Belgian border. This video brings back memories of alot of wooded areas from were I lived. Nasty winters though I must say. But summer was very nice.
SchnellGruppeNord - have you heard the story of what happened at the bend? A lone US Private, Bernie Goldstein (not good for contact w. the SS), stood in front of the column and yelled HALT! In the dark Peiper (or his men) could not see the lights of the town around the bend. Since they were tired and concerned about a major force in Stavelot, they backed-up and spent the night. You can still see the foundation of the customs shack in which Goldstein stood watch.
A typical feature of the road is that it winds every several hundred meters. Going off the road is made difficult by the hilly terrain and does not speed up your advance. Both ways of travel consume large quantities of fuel. Peiper started with fuel shortage as he left his rally point. This is a part of the reason his front line penetration was only marginal.
I went to La Gleize last month and camped in the hills above La Gleize 4km from Stoumont ! Right on the Positions they slept on! Above the bad bend in the road..
Great video, the music fits perfectly and made me feel pretty sad :( It's terrible to think of so much hope and life just reduced to distress and death, in a matter of weeks, I hope to visit this area also one day.
Excellent!! Please show us more!! I may not be able to travel to this part of the world in my life time, but I would like to experience the KG Peiper route through your eyes. Thank you so much for doing this.
Thanks to you all for your appreciation of our clips! :-) We are very glad to read your words! We are actually planning to publish another clip with KGP in about 3-4 weeks time. Next one will be based in and around La Gleize. The raw material comes from 2007. Watch this space!

Tevlig video! Känns väldigt realistisk när man ser deras väg, känns nästan som om man var endel av historien! Mycket fin låt också, vad heter den?

Yeah there are so many metal detector holes, I would go higher in the hill next time, up there we found an early FJ belt buckle near mint!

My Opa was apart of LSSAH in Wacht am Rhein. Joachim Peiper is a Hero. Ehre seinem andenken, gott gebe ihm die letzte ruhe.

The planned clip with KGP has obviously been severe delayed. This autumn will most likely see it but do not hold your breath. Standy by!
