  • Put some water on it!!!

  • My mother was a MOSFET and I find this extremely offensive

  • Ever tried using a Multimeter before ?!?! JESUS!!

  • HOLY SHIT THAT WAS STARTLING

  • Hope that wasn't a rare MOSFET. The output transistors in my Hafler DH-200 are long discontinued, so if they break, well I'm screwed.

  • man if you shorted it out on the power even 65V would have smoked it just without as many sparks

  • zzap

  • AWWWW my mouth was open!

  • AXaXaxAxAxA PUBLIC EXECUTION!!!!

  • Chicas "Ramstein - Links 2 3 4"

  • what happens when you put ac through a mosfet?

  • oh noooooooooo!!

    i´m burning!!

  • You should see what happens when a rather large (size of your hand) IGBT decides to kick the bucket while it has over 30A @ 220VDC going through it! I've seen it happen in large UPS systems. It's not pretty and it sure gets your attention! For this very reason we wear arc flash PPE when working inside such systems.

To put things into perspective, imagine your little MOSFET "explosion" multiplied a hundred times.

  • poor mosfet. made me jump!

  • why..?

  • I like it lol ^^

  • IS NOT FUNNY WHEN YOURE REPAIRING SOMETHING HHAHA

  • cool!

  • How does a switching power supply work?

  • lol pwned

  • that makes me JUMP.... F**** no nice

  • FET = Firework Effect Transistor

Working as intended I would say :D

  • wtf!!????!!!!! lol!

  • :( oyu are destroyer :( :D

  • Jajajajaja que bueno tio...

  • careful with the bassline in the background - WMG might disable your audio!.

  • this is nice !!!

  • poison!!!

  • Yup, breakdown voltage!

  • good job lol

  • RIP

  • トランジスタが壊れる

  • hahahahahahah an electro radiant event.....

  • nice! whats the mosfet

  • irf630

  • @mumish13 some sort if tamiya clip which bypasses something (current) and gives you the highest rate of fire.

  • lol

  • haha, why dont u do that to a tantalum capacitor, im sure it would be way more interesting.

  • aww poor-poor fet..

  • now i know what it is "metal oxide feild effect transistor"

  • wow did you wikipedia that all by yourself?

  • i fuked up its Metal Oxide Semi-conducter Feild Effect Transistor. mosfet. there used as switches, amplification, and what have you. i kno this cus im taking electronics

  • haha alright, its good that you know, cause i have no clue. my only claim to electronic knowledge is that a score well above average on my asvab in electrical combrehension, but thats nothing

  • wtf is a mosfet?

  • A transistor.

  • We don't call it Fire Emitting Transistor for nothing :P

  • lol i had one blow one me it was rated at 200 watt but i pumped too much current and was not heatsinked

  • wow that freaked me out.

  • I havent popped one yet but as a novice when I first powered up my pwm I was plugging in a cord in the other room. I peeked around the corner like a girl in a scarry movie. I had a full-face moto helmet on cause it was all I had with a good shield for my oh so pretty face.ROTFLMAO Seriosly though I was warned not to mess around and this is why Thanks for the demo or whatever.

  • cool, i done that too. pwmpower dot com

  • Been there done that (ha ha). One ckt took a week to figure out, I HADN'T plugged it in. (Dumb me).

  • Ha!

yep, I had this thing beautifully soldered on a nice new PCB, and completely destroyed then rebuilt it like 3 times! The breadboard seen here is my "what the f**K did I do wrong?" version of the cicuit.

well it least it didn't trip the house breaker; that was a plus..

  • did you burn one just to show us?=]

  • nope. that one was #5 in the execution lineup.

  • gday

i have a pretty standard pwm 30 amp off ebay and i reverse polaritied it and now it does not work.

do you know what component would have been damaged or are you able to point me in the right direction?

    regards andy

  • Probably you have damaged the capacitors.

They are usually eletrolitic and blow when reverse polarized!

  • Man those things switch hard with higher-voltage. MOSFET fireworks. --heh--

Great vid for future attempts.. -=)
