he was put down and laid in my back yard for 3 hours dead. I couldn't do anything but cry because although I have other horses that I love, I had a strong connection with him, and I loved him and he loved me. now I have a huge picture of him racing on my wall to remember him by. I miss him so much and I can feel the pain that the owners of Barbaro must have felt. Whenever I thin of him I cry :(
but on March 26 last year, he was running and playing like he aways did, and I was outside, I heard him cry out as if in pain and I ran over to him, just to find him unable to walk and I knew instantly he had broke his ankle. I got my dad and told him, but before I even began to walk and tell him I started sobbing and broke down because I knew he couldn't be fixed. I am sobbing right now as I am typing this
my horses name is my username for youtube. he was a thoroughbred and he came home after he got hurt in a race at Santa Anita. he came home because he hadn't broke anything, but he could never race again. I am crying just thinking about this :( He came home and I took care of him and loved him so much. Then less than a year ago he was running like a racehorse in our arena in our backyard. He loved to run and I always wished that he hadn't gotten hurt, or he would have still been racing.
This was an amazing video it made me cry, this shows how much you really captured how much he meant to people.I remember that day like it was yesterday.
Barbaro was a Thoroughbred who raced in 2005 & 2006. In 2006 he won the Kentucky Derby & was still undefeated, winning by the biggest margin in 60 years. Everyone thought he might win the Triple Crown but he broke down in the Preakness in May. From May until the following January he lived at New Bolton Hospital. His broken leg eventually healed but he delevoped laminitis (founder) & he had to be euthanized. He was a great horse & is truly missed. Thanks for watching.
RIP Barbaro. Even though I never saw you in real life, you earned my heart. <3 you, may you rest in peace and race your heart out in the big pastures above. Barbaro was truly amazing.
Wow. Awesome job, wonderful! Love the way you incorporated the people involved, capturing moment after moment when their faces said it all. Super great video!
