  • Hey I did this and the wii ir pointer does not appear on the screen.

  • It does kinda look like you're having a romantic night of playing mario kart though

  • So like, what, you plugged the candles into your comp? XD?

  • @MichaelChin1994 nah, not rly =D, the candles just need to be there. same as with the sensor bar (the wireless version just need batteries to power it up, no setup nor special connection is needed).

  • @RaphaChannel So then what is the point of the candles???

  • @MichaelChin1994 The same as the Wii's sensor bar. It acts as a infrared emiter. The wiiremote then uses the infrared sources to triangulate and estimate its position relative to your TV/monitor (that's why you need to inform if your "sensor bar" is either on top or below your screen).

Without such IR sources the wiimote can't guess where it is, thus the "point at the screen" feature is rendered useless.

  • @MichaelChin1994 The fire in them emmits InfraRed so the controller can calculate where it's pointing into., It could be 2 lighters, infrared ledsor similar stuff, I just used candles for this example because they can be commonly found. Hope that made it clear =].

  • @RaphaChannel Wait, so there's no sensor bar at all?

  • @MichaelChin1994 Well, not in this example, what is there for a fact are the two candles ACTING as the sensor bar. The Nintendo's sensor bar does nothing more than emit infrared signs, that's why the candles' fire work well.

  • @RaphaChannel Wow!

  • @RaphaChannel Go ahead and your pc and your whole house will burn!

  • hi hi could u tell me how to set this up, like if theres any steps that u need to do on ur actual emulator

  • Imposible

  • @MrAkramito it is possible, the sensor bar actually only happen to emit infrared signs (like any remote controller do) to your wiimote. The wiiRemote does all the magic by checking where the IR signs are comming from.

The sensor bar isn't anything more than a couple of infrared leds and does not communicate with the console(or emulator) at all. That's why you see wireless bars (battery powered) for sale.

  • Can I use more candles?

  • @ledgabriel well you can, but keep them REAL close one to another (at each side)

  • wii it work also with a quware wii mote?

  • @guitarherofreak161 should work with any kind/brand as long as it's compatible with the emulator

  • WOW!

Is this true? Can I use two candles as sensor bar in Dolphin emulator?

  • @Data4664 yep, as you can use candles as a sensor bar in the real wii... turns out that the sensor bar is just like a infrared cannon, the wii remote does all the job sensing the infrared sources to triangulate its position. Hope that helps.

  • como foi que vc fez rapha? manda um tutorial pra nós meros mortais..
