@Gudgeon18 Pffft, from another point of view, the John Wayne version was a shit film adaptation of the Charles Portis novel, and this version was a much more faithful adaptation (as it was meant to be; Matt Damon mentioned in an interview that the Coen brothers specifically told him he should read the book rather than watch the 1969 film).

They're both great films on their own merits, and it's not fair to compare the two of them given that they were trying to achieve different things.
