Being a vegetarian is good for you and good for certain animals but the reality is the way society developed and the number of people alive today without people eating meat the humman poulation would be greatly reduced. The way we live would be greatly effected and food prices would explode. Being a vegetarianalso leaves over twice the eco-footprint as well. So by saving captive animals bred for humman consumption you are destroying the enviornment and the wild animals living there.
